PunchTornado··on What medieval people got right about learning (2019)
maybe with AI and things like guided learning from gemini we all can get a 1-1 instructor.
PunchTornado··on Perplexity low-balls Google with $34.5B offer for Chrome
>AI startup Perplexity is powering a new AI-powered search engine on Truth Social, President Donald Trump's social media platform.

I don't understand why anyone would use them. If they get chrome, I'll switch to firefox. hate them too much.

PunchTornado··on Create personal illustrated storybooks in the Gemini app
do you really think this is a bug? not on purpose?
PunchTornado··on Reflections on OpenAI
no, because I wouldn't expect anything good from openai.
PunchTornado··on Grok 4 Launch [video]
what? nobody looks at those benchmarks, you use whatever works for your task, in most cases either gemini or claude. those benchmarks don't mean anything as models overfit on them.
PunchTornado··on Bulgaria to join euro area on 1 January 2026
in most contries votes have different weights. look at the US, or other western countries where minorities for example are boosted to be represented in the parliament. judging by this no country is democratic.
PunchTornado··on Bulgaria to join euro area on 1 January 2026
no proofs, just rephrasing what anti-eu propaganda says. also it is nice how people think they are able to dismiss a policy like the euro in 2 sentences thinking they understand it. probably without a phd in economics either.
PunchTornado··on Bulgaria to join euro area on 1 January 2026
who is non-democratic and why?
PunchTornado··on A federal judge sides with Anthropic in lawsuit over training AI on books
why would it erase the mistake? you pirated first.
PunchTornado··on Sam Altman says Meta offered OpenAI staffers $100M bonuses
20 mil is peanuts. who would accept it?
PunchTornado··on How to Build Conscious Machines
then I am sure you can provide a few bullet points here with the novel ideas that you present.
PunchTornado··on Waymo rides cost more than Uber or Lyft and people are paying anyway
pfah, I remember my Mercedes trip to Paris airport where I had a physical fight with the driver (10 years ago). SO glad to see the taxi business go down the toilet. Easily over 50% of them were scamming tourists.
PunchTornado··on How to Build Conscious Machines
This guy says nothing new, various things he says have been discussed a lot better by chalmers, dennett and others (much more in depth too). classical behaviour from computer scientists where they semi copy-paste other's ideas and bring nothing new to the table.
PunchTornado··on AI Saved My Company from a 2-Year Litigation Nightmare
completely agree. there are doctors who were bottom of the class or who are not updated with the latest research.
PunchTornado··on What is it like to be a thermostat? (1996)
isn't this the whole branch of analytical philosophy?
PunchTornado··on US vs. Google amicus curiae brief of Y Combinator in support of plaintiffs [pdf]
These people have financial interests in destroying google. Why would a judge take their opinion into consideration?
PunchTornado··on Time saved by AI offset by new work created, study suggests
Weird to find out that some people still believe a thing that guy says.
PunchTornado··on The Friendship Recession: The lost art of connecting
you are in the "intensive parenting" box as stated in the article
PunchTornado··on Google contract prevented Motorola from setting Perplexity as default assistant
the comment doesn't say that is good, it says that it is better than ios. do you think android is more closed than ios?
PunchTornado··on Google contract prevented Motorola from setting Perplexity as default assistant
I doubt it's because of that. Being a user of those msft products like Teams, it is more likely that they don't want another msft product if they can avoid it. why would you want bugs on top of bugs?
PunchTornado··on Llama 4 Smells Bad
we are in for a lot of pain if seemingly intelligent people make mistakes like this. grabbing the number of params from what gpt gives you. how can you do that?
PunchTornado··on Inferring the Phylogeny of Large Language Models
Intuitive and expected result (maybe without the prediction of performance). I'm glad somebody did the hard work of proving it.

Though, if this is so clearly seen, how come AI detectors perform so badly?

PunchTornado··on Google is illegally monopolizing online advertising tech, judge rules
facebook destroyed journalism
PunchTornado··on Google is winning on every AI front
really? all of my friends and everyone I know actually hates openai. they managed to be the bad guy in AI.
PunchTornado··on Gemini Live with camera and screen sharing capabilities
I use it daily, even started planning trips, explaining stuff, coding. Easily the best ai out there, then claude and then deepseek.
PunchTornado··on Gemini 2.5: Our most intelligent AI model
Why would you compare against all the models from a competitor. You take their latest one that you can test. Openai or anthropoc don’t compare against the whole gemini family.
PunchTornado··on Bayesian Epistemology (2022)
you should really try to think and understand what the other is saying, because your text doesn't show that you've put the effort.
PunchTornado··on Are LLMs able to notice the “gorilla in the data”?
Why do these articles test only 2 models, not even the best ones there are, and generalise to all AIs?
PunchTornado··on Are LLMs able to notice the “gorilla in the data”?
In the article they also give the png
PunchTornado··on TikTok goes dark in the US
Amd that will be better. No massive global corporation.
