Pr0··on Anti-Apple Anger
Seriously.
Pr0··on Aaron Swartz, Asking For Help, 119 Days Ago
Yeah, the bookmarklet does all the work.
Pr0··on Aaron Swartz, Asking For Help, 119 Days Ago
I actually tried to submit it before "martinoma" but was told that I was submitting too often. It's hard to say if TC really did submit its own story - throwaway accounts are quite common nowadays.
Pr0··on Instagram loses half its hipsters in a month
Here we go again. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4978143
Pr0··on Parse, Android, and the Facebook 3.0 SDK
The batch requests should be helpful. Thanks for the update!
Pr0··on Google launches Zavers, targeted digital coupons
Actually, the article does mention it at the end, in regards to the name. The company is called Zave Networks, not Zavers.
Pr0··on Bitcoin exchange hacked via Rails exploit, funds stolen
The good news is that they are going to cover the losses: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135919.msg1448056#ms... edit: I was wrong about the title, see below comment.
Pr0··on Apple Locks App Screenshots To Ward Off Scammers
Shortest TC article ever. Here's the source: http://www.macrumors.com/2013/01/09/apple-now-locking-screen...
Pr0··on Ask HN: Considering moving to a Mac - development pros and cons?
I'd wait a bit and then get a Windows 8 ultrabook. It comes down to personal preference though, in the end.
Pr0··on Codecademy adds API training
Previous discussion: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5032504
Pr0··on Microsoft Messenger will be retired and users migrated to Skype on March 15
I think this was first announced in November (not much more time, but at least it's over 100 days). This is confirmation of the exact deadline. Edit: Yep, that's what the article says and here's the HN discussion. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4753236
Pr0··on Researchers say Yahoo Mail exploit still active, despite claim of being fixed
For reference, here is the previous discussion: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5021841
Pr0··on Unsafe Query Generation Risk in Ruby on Rails (CVE-2013-0155)
Not as serious as http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5028218 but still important to note.
Pr0··on Yahoo Mail users hit by widespread XSS exploit
Sure, but if the victim sends the same email to all of their friends, he or she will surely end up finding out.
Pr0··on App Store Tops 40 Billion Downloads with Almost Half in 2012
Interesting, I had no idea that links could be submitted with and without https: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5020964
Pr0··on Google Maps never supported IE on Windows Phone 8, and likely never will
What work? They can just let Windows Phone users access the site and fend for themselves. I would say writing the code for the redirect is more work.
Pr0··on Make Me
I think that's the point :P
Pr0··on Vulnerability in FB Camera App Allowed for MITM Account Hijacking over WiFi
The HN title is wrong; it's already been fixed.
Pr0··on I’m So Ashamed Of TechCrunch Today
Just today? Talk about linkbait.
Pr0··on Dell Gives up on Android, Doubles Down on Windows 8
Dell's Android offerings always sucked. I would argue they should not have even bothered. Their computer meanwhile vary, and some are actually pretty decent.
Pr0··on [dead]

Pr0··on Ole Roemer and the Speed of Light
Very impressive!
Pr0··on Root Android using another Android [Without PC]
The "Root Transmission" link is dead. Looks like it was pulled from the Google Play Store.
Pr0··on Windows 8 apps hackable and crackable, just like iOS and Android
So that developers can build apps. You didn't really think that through did you? You need some level of protection, even if it's breakable.
Pr0··on New Facebook Android App - reviews scare me
They are. The new native app isn't out yet.
Pr0··on Tumblr just dropped out of DNS
Seems it started with just a normal outage: http://thenextweb.com/insider/2012/12/12/tumblr-confirms-use...
Pr0··on Windows is a Burning Platform
First screenshot shows an application on what, Windows 2000? Rofl, nice try.
Pr0··on Valve will release its own 'tightly controlled' console for the living room
There's also the part part where Valve would have to pay Microsoft to license Windows. With Linux, they wouldn't have to. Of course, Valve really hates Microsoft as of late, so you can't forget that.
Pr0··on Dogs learn to drive in New Zealand
This is impressive on so many levels. It's not so much that they are taught basic tasks over and over, but that together those tasks amount to something so much more complex.
