Phelinofist··on German ruling declares Google liable for false answers in AI Overviews
But it also shows the number of removed reviews (in a range like 0-50, 50-100 and so forth). If you encounter a restaurant with 5 starts but a lot of removed reviews you know whats up.

What is the problem with using a middleman with XMR?
Phelinofist··on Use your Nvidia GPU's VRAM as swap space on Linux
So can VRAM actually be used like regular RAM? E.g. if I have a 16GB module and my GPU has 16GB VRAM, could it be made so that my system reports 32GB RAM? What would be the implications of that?

I guess he his referring to Musk. IIRC Anthropic uses compute of xAI or whatever it is called atm.

I get what you mean, but that can also happen with code written by humans.

> since a malicious npm package already installed can get its payloads from a C2 server, it doesn't need an npm update

In general I agree, but I think these two vulns are 0day-y and pretty much every major distro is affected AFAIU, so there is perhaps slightly more potential than usual

Phelinofist··on Maybe you shouldn't install new software for a bit
Either my reading of your comment is wrong or you misunderstood the supply chain comment by OP I think: what they mean is that a supply chain attack that gets the exploit on a system would be great now because the reported vulns are unfixed pretty much everywhere

IMHO they are not. Using the shortcodes via () works okay-ish, but open the emoji menu is just awfully slow, it takes a solid 5-8 secs for it to show the emojis not recently used. It's absolute garbage.

Phelinofist··on Statement on the comments from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
> Protect _Americans_ from mass surveillance > Protect _American_ forces

What the actual fuck. How can anyone side with Anthropic. They are not the good guys by any means whatsoever. Mass surveillance against anyone is wrong and having killbots "when AI is ready" is totally fucked and dystopian. Imagine killbots rampaging while the good American people are at home living a nice peaceful life. Fuck any of that, fuck Anthropic, fuck ClosedAI, fuck Google, fuck Trump, fuck the DoD and fuck every American who is patriotic to the monster their country became. Fuck every country that also tries to do stuff like this. Fuck all companies taking part in such insanity.

I read it last year. I found it to be quit boring and it also felt kinda "dated" in the sense that more recent SF is more space-y. However, the social constructs were well thought out.
