Working in fang, Adderall speed bunnies are not that popular. The best engineers are prioritizing their clear thoughts. Taking speed is really not helping.

There is no free lunch, biggest features for optimal performance are still: sleep, exercise, good food, social contact.

It sure is fun tho, but it makes it easier to lie to yourself. Too bad it's too much fun for me to use recreationally.

I think it's a UX friendly wrapper around the poor UX super annoying official 'e-id'. I don't think it's me would have space in the market if the official e-id was as easy to use and reliable as the official one.

Speaking from experience where a team here has made a RIBS implementation. Stay away, keep it simple. Even at a fang size company it's not worth it

I'd rather buy dedicated hardware and have it just work. Currently using portal from facebook, works pretty well but limited to the most used video calling like zoom. No google meet :/

Can't edit anymore, should have elaborated more: I'm not suggesting we need this for many reasons, I'm wondering how this will evolve. FB, Insta,TikTok, newspapers etc have these issues, many opportunists hiding behind the fact that scale fact checking is HARD. I'm just cynical and fear governments jump in with the a hammer called regulation. Will there ever be enough ponzi schemes were the governments will say "enough"?

I wonder if we will ever have fact checking regulation that every media outlet needs to conform to.

It's a company, they optimize for their interest. They will invest according to that image/reputation value. But as any company, profits... But this reply just sounds like blind PR.

Last I heard about this in hard reduction groups, people experience this after 1-2 years of chronic daily usage. It's definitely something to keep an eye on. But people would be able to get through many sessions before being at risk.

I'm more worried about people stop being able to afford it, going to black market and and up having a dependency.

Bring backs memories when I wrote an Android Visual Voicemail for a telco. Fun fact, iOS couldn't do this as they have contracts with other telco's. Navigating through these folders wasn't that great tho. Setting your voicemail message by uploading an AMR file in a special folder was rather hacky.

Kotlin native has been rocky personally, I'll check back in a year.

Kotlin on Android is a must compared to Java, else you're a fool. Haven't seen any exceptions in the industry.

Kotless is okay, works, but early days.

I've seen decent backends on quarkus and kotlin.

It's a fun language, the couroutine development is pretty nice. Flow is a lot easier than Rxjava.

The article states that they moved of the ads platform. If people pose with a cigarette and it's allowed by content guidelines of the platform and country, would you expect to have it censored? If I post a picture that I am smoking you think they should delete it cause I'm advertising it?
