Oxodao··on Xbox goes down. You can't play games you own on disc
Which is exactly what have been said:

> so much archival work with high quality highly compressed game releases

Oxodao··on AI migrated legacy COBOL programs to Java, bugs included
php has a separate `.` operator that concatenate and you get an error if you try to do it with a `+`. That's indeed better but most of the time you concatenate with `sprintf` anyway
Oxodao··on Show HN: ssh ssh.place
If you properly set up your ssh client (No agent forwarding or X11 forwarding)
Oxodao··on Some more things about Django I've been enjoying
In go, for my personal projects only I don't think it would scale, I made my own migration tool since I am not using an ORM. It works pretty well for my use case and is quite simple.

EDIT: Also Doctrine is really great in the Symfony world, I like it much more than django-orm

For lots of applications, Mercure is a great replacement for websockets and it works wonderfully with django
Oxodao··on Codeberg Bans Cryptocurrency Projects
GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Codeberg, SourceForge, SourceHut, and that's just from the top of my head. That's not what I call "vanishingly rare"
Oxodao··on Codeberg Bans Cryptocurrency Projects
host your own. Codeberg is literally based on Forgejo you can setup on your own
Oxodao··on Standalone webserver written in pure PHP. No more need for nginx, php-fpm, etc.
You are really putting bad faith and being stubborn.

Yes you will need SOMETHING since you have to get your thing someway to compile this executable. Just as you'd need frankenphp to compile a single binary just as you that will then not require anything.

Great, it's a good thing to have websocket support it's clearly lacking in the php world.

Oxodao··on Show HN: Ekko – post-quantum E2EE layer for Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram Web
It was pretty much a simple "toggle encryption" button, when you pressed it and your friend also had Silence it would ask them if they want to start encryption, you pressed yes and you were encrypted. The only thing was that when you changed phone / reinstalled you would receive the encrypted message and you had to tell your friend to stop and restart the encryption

This reminds me of the good old days before signal, back when it was still called SmsSecure / TextSecure / Silence. This was pretty much the same concept but on top of SMS. I loved it
Oxodao··on Show HN: Wheesper – Start an anonymous discussion with a link
idk but seeing as OP answers he might be an AI too

Go is not a dependency. Go is a compiled language, once you download the frankenphp binary you do not need anything else, whereas you still need php for yours.

The readme is fully ai generated so its not a great start, but I checked anyway and yes the only thing I agree with is the lack of X-Accel-Redirect which really bother me.

I know about safety I'm literally in the process at work of going through our app to check for this exact issue since we are moving to frankenphp. And it's quite easy, unless you did something REALLY WRONG in your app, it's just a matter of implementing the ResetInterface [0]

Was absolutely ready to point you out how this is a fun side project nothing serious just to show its possible, then I read the readme and wtf it does not seems like it?

Just use frankenphp and be done with it, it runs caddy, doesn't need an external php runtime and also lets you bundle your app as a single executable.

Oxodao··on How I use HTMX with Go
The videos do not work under Firefox (on windows at least), probably codec related but unfortunate
Oxodao··on OpenClaw plugin for real phone calls via Twilio and OpenAI Realtime
I hate the world we're going into. If I get a single call like that, you better be sure I will never ever talk with that person again. What a pain.
Oxodao··on OpenWrt One – Open Hardware Router
i don't understand the use case for 1x2.5gbs + 1x1gbs for a router. Why not both 2.5gbs it's not like you'll be running lots of stuff on the router itself so it would be more useful to have a wan AND a lan at 2.5 (outside of load balancing for a lot of wifi devices of course)
Oxodao··on OpenPrinter
Yeah maybe you're lucky but I've had 3 printers in my life, ink jets, and those are the three individual worst tech experience I've ever had
Oxodao··on Show HN: Running a vision model on every screenshot on-device
Neat, i'll try this out!
Oxodao··on Show HN: Running a vision model on every screenshot on-device
Could be quite interesting especially since it runs on hyprland!

Does it supports other languages than english by chance ?

Oxodao··on Zero-Downtime Deployments with Docker Compose – No Kubernetes Required
Thanks. People are really acting like we were cavemen before kubernetes, but I guess that those people just never tried to run anything without k8s and because that's the only thing they know they are biased toward it
Oxodao··on A Practical Guide to SSH Tunnels: Local and Remote Port Forwarding
Could you share it? I'd be interested to get idea to make my own
Oxodao··on Ntfy.sh – Send push notifications to your phone via PUT/POST
I do use gotify [1] which seems to be pretty much the same, and does the job quite well. Not sure how they compare, does ntfy goes through Google / Apple network or it's directly connected to your server instance?

Oxodao··on A powerful new chapter for Windows PCs, accelerated by Nvidia RTX Spark
And you better be sure that I'm setting up linux on this. Windows is not the ideal platform for anything anyway.
Oxodao··on I turned a $80 RK3562 Android tablet into a Debian Linux workstation
Is there any way to flash it to internal emmc instead of relying on an SD card. I'd love a small linux tablet but I don't want it to be febrile
Oxodao··on La Machine
one hundred and twenty nine dollars is an insane amount of money to demand for that
Oxodao··on I Moved My Digital Stack to Europe
It can be done with proton, or at least it used to be possible (Not sure, didn't check in a while) thanks to their bridge. A small local software you'd run that decrypt everything and provides a local imap server with the decrypted content
Oxodao··on Zero-native – Build native desktop apps with web UI
This is not native.
Oxodao··on Show HN: PHP-fts – Full-text search engine in pure PHP, no extensions
Ok I get what you're saying now, that's fair. Tbh I mainly do Symfony so most of what dev-dependencies use are already in the dependencies for me so it never happened
Oxodao··on Modern IRC Client with E2E Encryption
yeah especially for vibecoded apps.

What the heck is going on in the commits though, the messages are useless ("Update frontend (1 files)") and there's tons of "Initial commit — CryptIRC v0.3.0" commits.

The index.html is insane. 12.5k lines long, everything embedded in it

Oxodao··on Show HN: PHP-fts – Full-text search engine in pure PHP, no extensions
1. Just add phpcsfixer and phpstan like any sane project

2. If you use phpunit class in prod code, you deserve to get a fatal error
