OsrsNeedsf2P··on Using any C++ library in Godot
The point is that it's compatible, not that it's the recommended way of doing things.
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Owed a billion dollars in Nvidia stock
> if someone did this to me this is pretty much grounds for an irreparable relationship.

If someone tried to claim what was contractually theirs?

OsrsNeedsf2P··on Back and shoulder surgery is often worse than useless
One of the reasons I left Canada was it took me 6 months to get an MRI after a severe head injury in 2017. I have since gladly paid nearly 500k in taxes to other countries. Fuck Canada.
OsrsNeedsf2P··on First Shader from Zero in Godot 4
Looks absolutely beautiful and gorgeous
OsrsNeedsf2P··on MiMo v2.6
I'm also fond of how Mimo is confidently showing their model behind Deepseek and other models. They're being transparent on multiple fronts
OsrsNeedsf2P··on KDE turns 30 and someone's brought an AI-native desktop proposal
I love making kustom KDE widgets with LLMs[0][1]. If you like customizing your desktop, I highly recommend you take advantage of this new era.

OsrsNeedsf2P··on End the H-1B Program
There's fundamentally two schools of thought - those who are Pro and Anti immigration. People's opinions of programs like H1B tend to align more closely to their school of thought than they do any economic or social impact.
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Apple M6 Pro achieves the highest single-core CPU score in Geekbench 7
I'm currently in the middle of porting a game from 2004 to run on MacOS via wine. On a 5000$ Macbook Pro, I'm getting about 4 FPS. This has multiple causes, including the game being single threaded and running through Rosetta, but damn is it hard to get good single core performance out of Macbooks.

Out of curiosity, I also ported the game to arm Linux with fex + upstreamed the wine patches in about a third the time and there's no FPS issues

OsrsNeedsf2P··on iPhone Duo
Apple is the champion of removing features. It gives them room to bring them back in the next edition
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Two children died from gene therapies in China: where the field goes next
The obscession with ethics will cost significantly more enjoyable years than deaths adopting gene therapy early
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Launch HN: Nori Robotics (YC S26) – A low-cost humanoid robot for development
Have you chatted with the ex developers of KScale labs? What makes you different, given they went poof?
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Show HN: HN Match Maker – Matching "Who Wants to Be Hired?" With "Who's Hiring?"
> I'm sure you mean well but as someone who has considered posting on who wants to be hired in the past.

Ever since I posted once 6+ months ago, I've been getting random emails from people who found my "posting" on a bunch of different listing websites. I feel bad for them, some of them are even tailoring the resume. The position is no longer available..

OsrsNeedsf2P··on AnkiDroid: Google Play no longer allowing Open Collective donation link
I've started to see more B2C business apps not be on the Play Store, like Veed is online web
OsrsNeedsf2P··on 2004 RuneScape fit a multiplayer RPG into 56k dial-up
Is this article just an analysis of the Lost City[0] codebase without linking Lost City?

OsrsNeedsf2P··on Kumander Linux – A Linux Distro with a Windows 7 Desktop
AeroShell seems to only have full support on X11. Didn't expect this argument to come up again
OsrsNeedsf2P··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
Maybe help donate then? 13000 Euro is a lot of money to poor people
OsrsNeedsf2P··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
It does more than catch amateurs, it's a heavy blow against the adoption and usefulness
OsrsNeedsf2P··on My Business Is Dying
All I see is a company with a lot of users and good revenue. This looks like a great moat to build a business off of!
OsrsNeedsf2P··on OpenAI restores 5-hour Codex and Work limits for ChatGPT Plus users

OsrsNeedsf2P··on Apple cutting jobs from Siri, Vision Pro teams
Numbers are meaningless without understanding the size of those teams
OsrsNeedsf2P··on CodeX v0.148.0 cannot use GPT-5.6 Sol
Free reset incoming!
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Linux 7.3 improves performance when running out of vRAM
I gave myself 32GB of swap since SSDs are quite fast and the pages sent to disk seem to intelligently be rarely referenced ones. Feels amazing to run 4 VMs and 12 Claude Code instances on my mid tier hardware
OsrsNeedsf2P··on RustDesk now supports true unattended remote access on Wayland
Rustdesk is amazing. I was using it just 2 days ago and ran into this hiccup, so it's a pleasure to see it resolved
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Codex in ChatGPT desktop app for Linux is now in preview
I'd love to see the stats on how many Linux users want this. Most Linux usage probably comes from WSL/SSH'ing into servers, where they would use the CLI instead of a GUI. Even for the people who run Linux on the desktop, most probably prefer the terminal anyways
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Delta
This was my experience with the editor as well. For about 2 seconds, I admired how clean it was. I then struggled to read anything at all and haven't reopened it since.

(Edit to get ahead of the comments: I'm sure I can change it. Customization is important. Almost as important as good defaults)

OsrsNeedsf2P··on I hate packaging my software for Linux
As someone who packaged a lot of software for Linux, I have to admit that it's bespoke and forces you to make options that come with pros and cons. But at least it _works_.

Windows? We have 1 in 100 users whose antivirus nukes a random config file. Or part of the installer. MacOS? I hope you bought a Macbook, and don't mind updating your app indefinitely.

OsrsNeedsf2P··on More than 10 firms pay up to $100k a month for access to Truth Social posts
Not a Republican, but I support this behavior because I can't wait for more talent to leave the US
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Mark Zuckerberg attacks 'closed' AI rivals as Meta returns to open models
Disclaimer- ex Meta employee.

Horizon was horribly managed, but also we threw all of our unannounced projects under that umbrella to make it look better for shareholders when we finally cut it. The original LLM research, smart glasses, and a bunch of other projects were under the "Reality Labs" business expense.

OsrsNeedsf2P··on Retraction: The App Store Rejection of the Week That Was a Correct Rejection
The solution is simple. Don't license your code MIT. MIT enables this
OsrsNeedsf2P··on Retraction: The App Store Rejection of the Week That Was a Correct Rejection
Can confirm. I used to hate when people published their code under MIT instead of GPL. But now that I work at a startup that competes with a few open source offerings, I love having Claude check in on their progress and port the content over.
