Please share your sources saying it's not getting worse.
If it were not a marketing scheme, they would responsibly disclose the vulnerabilities to the code owners, and go on with their lives.
Yubikey redundancy is a great idea though
In the devcontainer you can run code snippets, use the system shell and access an execution environment close to production if well made.
It also allows to avoid (system) dependency conflicts between different projects you may work on.
It's quite limited for an auditing tool...
But their solution is to depend on directus, which can lead to the exact same issues. To my eyes, they just added an extra step...
You mention that

Nuclear is indeed (more or less) zero-emission, but it's not renewable.
