Numberwang··on Ask HN: What's the best documentation you've ever read?
Really? I thought they were horrible. I gave up on learning the language mainly because of the documentation.
Numberwang··on Ask HN: What are the things that you have automated in your personal life?
Wow, that is probably exactly what happened. Funnily enough it looks very much like my parents place.
Numberwang··on Ask HN: What are the things that you have automated in your personal life?
My fathers automower got destroyed when a moose decided to stomp it. Also in southern Sweden.
Numberwang··on Koko, a gorilla who could do sign language, has died at 46
A metaphor for shit thinking that people interpret as profound. A deepity.
Numberwang··on Making buildings, cars and planes from materials based on plant fibres
I got a paywall unfortunately. Seems interesting.
Numberwang··on China’s SenseTime, the world’s highest-valued AI startup, closes $620M round
So you are saying HN has taken an active stance against Islam?
Numberwang··on China’s SenseTime, the world’s highest-valued AI startup, closes $620M round
How can't this be a legitimate opinion?
Numberwang··on Jeff Bezos Pledges to Expand His Space Ventures
Why do anything? The reason we have all that we have is a combination of exploration and problem solving. Meaning often comes at the same time as you solve a problem, not nessesarily before.

A vegan diet does.

Windows?
Numberwang··on Why read old philosophy?
I'm just saying, if you can't quantify it, anything goes.
Numberwang··on Why read old philosophy?
Islam has the ultimate answer to all these personal journey questions. No need for greek philosophy.
Numberwang··on Michael Pollan reluctantly embraces the 'new science' of psychedelics
“Either the moon is made of cheese or it isn’t” is not a personal belief that should impress anyone.
Numberwang··on Ask HN: What tool do you use to do advanced custom graphs in?
For example a line graph where the line changes color depending on value gradually or a graph with multiple overlays.
Numberwang··on Fonts for Complex Data
I agree. When will this madness end?
Numberwang··on A Design Lab Is Making Rituals for Secular People
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_ideas

wash your hands.

Numberwang··on A Design Lab Is Making Rituals for Secular People
Well I did my masters in history of ideas, but I guess I didn't understand the smart.
Numberwang··on A Design Lab Is Making Rituals for Secular People
Any sane person would chose washing your hands and more useful knowledge than the collected wisdom mentioned. People can rarely be woken up from wishful thinking and in the cases they were they did the work themselves.
Numberwang··on A Design Lab Is Making Rituals for Secular People
I'm just pointing out woo has little value other than a source of fiction.
Numberwang··on A Design Lab Is Making Rituals for Secular People
It's all bullshit and without wisdom. Just because you want to believe something is true or holds truths doesn't make it so.

If you put all religion and ideologies ever invented in one hand and the concept of washing your hands in the other, washing your hands wins without contest.

Numberwang··on Mobile phone cancer warning as malignant brain tumours double
Is anyone calling anyone these days? Mobile Phones seems to mostly be used for messaging and surfing these days.
Numberwang··on Features of a successful therapeutic fast of 382 days' duration (1973)
That's why you should eat a low fat vegan diet.
Numberwang··on Why it took a long time to build the tiny link preview on Wikipedia
Thank you!
Numberwang··on Why it took a long time to build the tiny link preview on Wikipedia
I personally always use the mobile version

for desktop these days.

I much prefer it to the standard version.

Numberwang··on Heart surgeons refuse difficult operations to avoid poor mortality ratings
Yes, you are correct.
Numberwang··on Heart surgeons refuse difficult operations to avoid poor mortality ratings
Yes, lot's of things are always involved. Including air quality etc as I think I saw on HN just the other day.

I find it interesting though that the right type of vegan diet will basically make you hypertension and heart attack proof and that it may also reverse heard disease (the only diet to do so). Especially when you look at mortality and costs of healthcare this really need to be more generally recognized.

Numberwang··on Heart surgeons refuse difficult operations to avoid poor mortality ratings
It's sad to hear this when it's totally unnecessary.

Hear disease has been a solved problem for decades. Just compare the rates of disease for vegans with the general population.
