I do wonder about eOS staff issues. It would be a shame to see that fall apart, I've been using it for years. Even so, someone picking up the torch as it were would be better than starting another.
How the author arrives at the conclusion that the answer is to create another browser is beyond me.
Advocate for Firefox. Invest in Firefox. There you go.
insert why not both? meme here
PSQL in my experience has vastly better tooling, community, and is ahead of the curve tech wise. Same with extensions availability. Or perhaps you need to move away from it to say CockroachDB, or similar which is much easier.
The fact that we've come this far -- with all that Trump has done -- and are now only getting to what equates to a grain of sand in the grand scheme of all that he has managed to pull off... that tells you a lot. We've been playing with fire for a long time. If this isn't just the start of charges, we're in a lot of trouble.
...by Meta. No. No sir, it is not.
ActivityPub (Mastodon variety) has been a breath of fresh air for me. That's my Twitter replacement, though that's bad wording, because I don't want what Twitter has been for years.
Suggesting that Rust isn't a good choice for a backend CRUD is... odd. With that said, one of the particular CRUDs described above: We ultimately went with Go. Only because Rust isn't an officially approved language at our shop yet though.
I wanted to come here to say the same thing, so I'll quote you instead. Greed over all other things, how swell.
From the user side, the package manager often doesn't do what I want, either. I could install Node (as an example) via `apt` or `yum`, and end up with a Node installed in a root location. Now I'm in a mess. Or I could use a install script, or even yet another 3rd party solution such as `npm` to do what I actually want: Node installed for me. ...of course, I just mentioned a whole other can of worms: All the "other" package managers out there.
TL;DR: KISS often is the best solution.
Questions: 1. Can WASM plugins with Extism easily call back into host provided APIs? 2. Complex types are supported?
Discounting Android as "Not Linux" enough is a mind boggle to me. Perhaps not "GNU" enough, but certainly the spirit of Linux -- customized for the particular needs, stable, fast, works on a plethora of hardware, etc.
..but like all things, it depends on your needs. Some have already pointed out the pages on SQLite's on site regarding # of writers (the main issue), etc.
