You are mistaken. Haven't you seen commercials for those "breakfast drinks"? That's what this is pretty much.
What do you mean? That is the whole point of the discussion. They are citing studies and talking about what effect the various ingredients in the formula will have on the body.
It's true, private trackers generally are "obscure" if you consider every person in the world (just like the majority of the world doesn't read HN). But if you niche down to your basic interests, then there are good private torrent trackers that will generally have almost everything worth having in that area.
The N and S Ossetians don't hate each other or anything - they want to join together.
Regardless if it's Georgians or Russians, both of them are invaders in the land. And if Russia wasn't near, I'd bet Georgia would be willing to let them go (that's what Saakishvili said in a recent interview).
If Georgia let S Ossetia go to Russia, it would be doing a big disservice to the people (I know because I am from the North Caucasus).
So Georgia didn't "invade" S Ossetia. It belongs to them to protect from Russia. That's why it has "South" in the name.
How is it the bitcoin network's fault?
This discovery excites me because the person also mentions that it has Caucasian characters in the manuscript. So maybe it was written by my ancestors.
EVERYTHING we do ultimately comes down to trying to spread and preserve
* our genes * our family's genes * our friends' genes
and all the other social groups humans form, in the order of priority being group size smallest to least.
Emotions are the definable channel to that "gene preserving" desire.
Everything we do in life is to achieve a certain emotional state (think about it). We don't want money. We want what it will mean to us (e.g. security, power, fun, freedom, etc.). We don't want a relationship, we want what it will mean to us (love, belonging, etc.).
Nature's calibrated human has his emotions correctly / optimally linked to spreading and preserving his and other humans' genes.
How a robotic AI with long extending arms in every room?
An act of God?
Or maybe a maid...
Mayhap paying your wife $20 to do it?
These are all reasonable suggestions.
If you're too low ("I know I can do better than this!"), you work until you reach your temperature.
If you're too high, you self sabotage yourself until you are back to your level.
Case in point, removing your multi million dollar game from circulation.
The thing that inhibits me from using your site is that I don't understand 100% what it does / how it does it, and how much it costs.
I'd add A LOT more meat to your landing page.
I want to know
* What am I allowed to print? Show me examples of all the stuff I can do
* Can I create campaigns, where it is automatically scheduled to send X on Jan 1st, Y on Feb 1st, etc..
* Can I have trinkets / widgets delivered to you guys and you combine that into one mailing?
* I definitely want to be sure the printed thing looks like how I intended it to be. How will you do this? I would like it if I got the mail piece scanned or photographed (as a review copy, before it is scheduled to be sent) and emailed to me.
* What's the cost? You don't have to do all the stuff above for free. You can charge a fee for everything, e.g. $1-$5 per trinket that has to be processed, $10-$20 for a review copy photo / scan. What's the cost per print + mailing? Can I choose the mailing speed (e.g. FedEx overnight, UPS 3-day ground, etc.)?
Actual defense is almost impossible if you want any mobility. Even US presidents get shot by determined citizens.
If someone is willing to give their life to kill someone else, it can be done.
With current technology, real defense is absurdly expense and still not effective.
So the way society currently works is on a system of retribution. You basically have a big paddle, and you whack people who get out of societal norms. You rely on people's (usually) occurring desire to not hurt themselves without enough reward to maintain a reasonable level of order.
So your "Defense agency", are you basically paying them to avenge you in case someone does you wrong? This has actually existed for thousands of years, it is known as "blood feuds" (except your family members do the avenging instead of a hired party).
What it leads to is different families killing one another for generations, some have lasted for multiple hundreds of years.
OK, but now in your system, it isn't families killing eachother but hired guns. Lets say now instead of 1 big paddle (the gubment), you now have 5 smaller paddles.
Human nature will have it that each of the owners of those paddles will threaten some people (usually where he lives) to give him money or else he will whack you. Now you don't freedom of choice. If you think you can funnel some more money to a different paddle to save you, that may work... until now that paddle is the biggest of the bunch and he controls your area as well. Human nature will... (look into what warlords are, read some history on the 1000-1500 years in Europe, Central Asia, Asia)
Listen buddy, humanity started with anarchism. What we have now for government is at least close to the best that we ever had before. If other forms of human cooperation were better, then they would have survived.
Human cooperation is a survival of the fittest, and currently in the world, people strive for western ideals. That means democracy, capitalism with a bit of socialism, is the best we have (and have had) so far.
Getting money is multiplying value by business.
There are different versions of Islam just like there are different versions of most other religions (e.g. Catholic vs Orthodox Christianity).
Saudi Arabia has a majority of Wahhabi followers. The Wahhabi sect of Islam promote extreme Islam, Shariah, etc..
These Wahhabi followers terrorize fellow Muslims who follow a different sect of Islam... their goal is to purge the world of infidel Islam and to put in Wahhabi Islam which they believe is the true version.
Saudi Arabia, as I said earlier has a majority of Wahhabis. They send these Wahhabi missionaries to other Muslim countries who follow moderate Islam and their goal is to convert the inhabitants to become extremists and in turn try to convert their fellow countrymen into extremists as well.
And just to make it clear, their conversion tactics include bombings, killings, etc.. So it isn't just a knock on the door and asking if someone has 15 minutes to talk about our lord and savior Muhhamed.
Source: my country has these scumbags.
If you can pay something that's related to the niche, it shows you have expertise in the niche.
For example, if you can pay $100/month for a business forum, than that shows you are at least somewhat serious and interested in business, and more likely, you are already successful at it.
If you can pay via open source contributions to the OS community, and that's a requirement for a software community, it shows at least you can code decently.
It doesn't have to be a "Do X" type of test either, it can just be an interview to hear their experience, their attitude, etc..
>Or, how does inability/unwillingness to pay or prove yourself in some other way relate to an inability to make worthwhile contributions?
You design a test to filter out people that you don't want in your community. If people fail that test, then it should already signal an inability to make worthwhile contributions. It might give false negatives for users that would have been good, but the test should not give too many false negatives.
No it's not. It's a problem all large and free communities face.
Try looking for private communities, and the quality is much higher.
To get into these types of communities, you have to pass an interview or maybe pay monthly (I don't belong to these types, but I've heard good stuff about their quality).
e.g. want a good business community?
Maybe have a fee for $100/month, so you have people who can afford that join.
want a good programming community? Maybe have open source contribution requirements.
Or just interviews in general will filter out a lot of crappy users.
I know how to code through self learning, and I've pretty much solely done web development. So I barely know much CS. Also not very good at math.
So what are the essential prerequisites you would say are necessary for doing neat, useful stuff with machine learning?

Picking up girls, and selling are very similar, and you can often cross use the techniques you learn.
Is selling dishonest? It is if you lie and shit. Is it manipulative? What the hell does that really mean? When we interact with the world and people, we are by definition manipulating it.
If you show up to a party and act retarded, you are manipulating people into thinking you're a retard.
If you show up to a party and act cool, interesting, fun, you are manipulating people into thinking you're that.
Is the latter form of manipulation considered "bad" because you aren't cool, interesting, and fun all the time? No one is 100% of the time, we all have different emotional states, at different times.
Why is selling yourself wrong then? There's pretty much nothing wrong with that as long as you don't have STDs (and even that's ok if you mention it) or are a serial killer or something.
