In the UK alone, around 7.2 million people have asthma. Globally, WHO estimates that asthma affected 363 million people in 2023 and caused 442,000 deaths.
Peak Flow Meter Diary is not meant to detect every possible trigger. It will not warn you if someone suddenly sprays perfume nearby, or if a dusty bag is opened in the same room. But it could help with risks that can realistically be monitored ahead of time, such as weather, pollen, pollution, cold air, storms, and similar factors. The aim is to make daily tracking easier, show simple visual warnings and notifications, and make it easier to share useful records with clinicians.
I’m also trying to build it in a way that reduces paper, plastic, and electronic waste. If funding allows, I would like to make the project carbon-negative.
That is the bigger dream: to make a small example of how even modest start-up can think about environmental impact from the start, and use it as a practical showcase.
The pitch and full project explanation are here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/why5/peak-flow-meter-di...
Feedback welcome, especially from anyone with asthma, clinicians, carers, or people who have worked on health tracking tools. By now I know that my kickstarter is not going anywhere, so I would value any input was the idea that bad, or lack of marketing and accessing appropriate groups etc. I think this community has a lot of experience so I would like someone to share what could have I done better. Do not be shy to tell me if you think idea was waste of time.
Can we have a day off? Yes and no, or yes, but at your expense.
The problem is system design. If a company earned money for its contributors/workers, then each gain would be shared across the company, from the board to its employees. But a company earns money for its shareholders, and you, as an employee, are in the expense column.
Therefore, a day off is either a mandatory legal right meant to help you rest so you can be more productive, or it is just additional unproductive time that does not create more value or maximize profit.
Therefore, this is where the argument for a 4-day working week collapses. To get a 4-day working week would mean yes, but with less "expense", or a lower salary.
For the same reason, taxing the rich would not help "the people" much, as it goes to the wrong pocket.
Is there are fix, yes.

I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

Edit 1: When I was growing up, a started with tech not because of money but because I belived we will endup in StarTrek society, solving real problems expanding civilisation, older I am all I see is money worshiping cult
But it is completely opposite if your livelihood depends on it, your income or your business, all trades depends on money, and there is limited amount human attention out there equal to number of people online multiplied by number of minutes spent.
So, there is uneven spread, and the same reason why some artist thrive and many starve. Same for writers, and many other arts and sports. If you take tennis as example, you will see that only maybe 100 or so tennis players earn amount of money that is good for the comfortable life style. Others are struggling to get by.
Same in any arts, or creative work ... only very small will actually manage to live out of their art ...
5:46 -> "Five and and bit tense 45"
5:48 -> "Five and 45 tense"
5:49 -> "Five and very tense 45" or "Five and loose 50?" ?
But I like it :D
Anyhow thanks!
What to do in case of nuclear disaster? What type of nuclear disaster? In case of full scale nuclear war? Nothing we will just die, if you do not have long term survival bunker that is it. The End.
In all calculations of global clash everyone forget one thing, it is not nuclear weapons but that there is 450 nuclear reactors with thousands kilograms of nuclear rods far more worse than nuclear weapons combined, so just imagine 450 untended Chernobyl at the same time.
I know it was something long before React/Redux had actions to go back or Quokka in VSCode.
This is idea in same level as quantitative easing, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing) "Lets give rich people money so they recover economy" what happens "Rich people use that money £895 billion buy stocks, so they inflate market even more and not even penny trickles down to ordinary people, so they become even poorer.
Paying rich people that own land to sequester carbon is equally, (not sure which word to use) ... evil, diabolic as QE scam for the rich. Probability is high that they will use that money not to plant trees but to buy more land, even more increasing gap between wealthy and poor.
So, my question is when does wealthy people greed and naivety of poor ends?
I live in UK, and current inflation of ~10-15% will quickly eat all your savings, house/flat prices almost doubled. Just in 2 years what was 200K now is 350K, what was 400K is 700K. Meaning all you worked for years will be diminished in just couple.
Wages are not following inflation since 1970, while profits of shareholders have skyrocketed.
So, when I read "No one wants to work", I read it as:
- "No, one wants to work, for the money I would like to pay them",
> What is the level of skills and amount of money you are willing to pay?
- Highest level of skill, and if possible I would like to pay nothing.
So, there is no slavery they just paying for what they eat and spend in terms of clothing, heating, food ...
And by this I am not even calculating in the damage they have done by committing the crime in the first place.
