Nas808··on DoorDash confirms data breach affected 4.9M customers, workers and merchants
It's far too common now and there doesn't seem to be any meaningful consequences for the websites/companies involved.
Nas808··on iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
I feel the same, I’ve had an SE since it launched. The devices released since then are just too big. I was hoping we would see something new in that form factor during today’s event.
Nas808··on TV detector van
The entire concept of being charged a fee for broadcast TV, going as far as having enforcers driving around in vans seems very strange to me. But on the other hand, I am very impressed with the quality of programming the BBC puts out.
Nas808··on Judge Gives E-Cigarette Makers 10 Months to Seek FDA Review
I smoked for 15 years and tried all the usual quitting aids many times. E-cigs were the only thing that worked for me, but I’m a bit concerned about the long term affects of vaping.

Even if you do that, there’s some devices (Chromecast, Google Home) that have Google’s DNS hardcoded and ignores the servers passed by DHCP.
Nas808··on DNS-over-HTTPS Policy Requirements for Resolvers
You can do both, I have a Pi-Hole running alongside the “Cloudflared” package so Dnsmasq forwards lookups to Cloudflare over DoH.
Nas808··on Canadian open data portal
Geogratis is being shuttered on December 31st, the WMS services will be gone.
Nas808··on ShadowBrokers: The NSA Compromised the SWIFT Network
Every time something like this breaks I have to take it with a grain of salt. I've been fooled by HN before about "major" security breaches that end up not having much of an impact at all.

Cloudflare leak in Feb... sounded like the world was ending here.

Nas808··on The web sucks if you have a slow connection
I used a Pentium at 133 MHz at the time, and it struggled to play MP3. The tracks would stutter.
Nas808··on What’s up with Firefox?
It's not process-per-tab like Chrome, it's just 2 or 3 processes.
