It is true that it helped me when I went to gym, it hurt at first but got a lot better within 2 weeks. Could be just coincidence but now I've stopped the pain is coming back.

My thought as well, how long before the US decide to invade to get rid of those "weapon of mass destruction".
Namari··on Ask HN: How do I get back into the tech industry after 4 years of unemployment?
First you should try to see if you still like what you were doing and what burnt you out in the first place. If you still do then there are loads of video tutorials to help you out cover the gap. This will take at least a month to get back in shape. Don't bother applying before as you won't be ready and might fail one interview you could have succeeded by being more prepared. Train for interviews and ask the correct questions. You need to be prepared to the questions about those years and how quick you can get back to your feet. They will want to know if a burnout can still happen.

For system you can always try to get a certification.

Also you need to know if you're still capable of working 8 hours a day.

Good luck

Namari··on Google Maps Hacks (2020)
Oh that sucks, there should be some sort or immutability after x amount of view/time/likes.

I didn't even know there was title moderators ... why does it even exist! Are they suggesting a new title or forcing their title over yours? (which I found unacceptable if it's the case)
Namari··on Ask HN: Those making $0/month or less on side projects – Show and tell
Maybe it's not my style so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. Hal9000 and Ono Sendai design are too basic tbh. Broseph feels much better. Also the black color really feel like it's for teenager or maybe metal vibe people (could be the customers you're targeting?). Maybe try to show different tshirt color in the front page so we know there is more than just black. Try to add more design? All the best!
Namari··on Ask HN: Those making $0/month or less on side projects – Show and tell
Looks like a good idea! It would be nice to have a video showing the whole process.

To be honest the t-shirts don't look that great. Maybe there is room for improvement.
Namari··on Japan’s business owners can’t find successors – one man is giving his away
I would say the same goes for many countries.

As a person who lived in many countries I felt the same in almost every english speaking countries, they could be welcoming but making friends isn't that easy, maybe easier in NZ and OZ than the rest. In Latin countries I felt it was a lot easier, especially coming from one myself.

Namari··on My Overemployment Story
I worked as a public servant once, I could have gotten another job for sure, I guess it all depends about the amount of work and meetings.

Namari··on Ask HN: Why don't I see gold at the end of the remote working rainbow?
I agree but meeting your team is really important, not only for you but for the team itself. People tend to care a lot less about the team or the company when they are not on site to socialize with coworkers. It means people may not think twice about getting another job, a remote job is only seen as a source of income, at least that was my case. So in the company's PoV, I would not hire full time people but hybrid seems fine, or at least people who come to the office one full week many times a year.
Namari··on How Faithful Is Amazon’s Rings of Power to JRR Tolkien’s Books?
Ah yeah I almost forgot about The Hobbit, you said it, it was far too long. The difference with LOTR is that is doesn't include LOTR in its name, unlike Amazon's new show. But yeah they're trying to milk the cow. Yeah we're not getting younger.
Namari··on Brave browser now blocks cookie banners
This does not mean it's coming from the cookies, have a look at `decentraleyes` extention, that could be something like that
Namari··on How Faithful Is Amazon’s Rings of Power to JRR Tolkien’s Books?
I guess they're using the LOTR's name/fame to attract people, if they would have done another fantasy show without LOTR's name, this would not have work as well so I guess they went for it, regardless of the fanbase.

The world can thank Jackson for doing a great trilogy that doesn't change the story that much and that is still a master piece.

Let's hope Amazon don't ruin the name.

Namari··on Ask HN: How to find what I am really good at?
Being good at something doesn't mean you want to keep doing it and yes things take time to master, you're not a natural on everything. Maybe you should take some time off, go travelling for a while, maybe your will see things that will get your interest.

Namari··on Jean-Luc Godard has died
It's the only one I've watched and that stopped me from watching more of his movies, it just bored me so much, I wonder if all his movies are at the same pace or if I should give another try to `A bout de souffle`.
Namari··on What If Obesity Is Nobody’s Fault?
I remember reading a while ago that one reason about high/low metabolism was based on their microbiome. They fed rats a rich diet for 2 generations and they noticed that the new generation got fat even though they were not eating much, they noticed the new genetation was missing a strain of bacteria that their grandfathers had.
