Yeah, looks pretty straightforward to me, but I used to write C++ for a living. I mean, there are complicated cases in C++ starting with C++11, this one is not really one of them. Just init the fields to false. Most of these cases is just C++ trying to bring in new features without breaking legacy code, it has become pretty difficult to keep up with it all.

Have you seen JPEG XL source code? I like the format, but the reference implementation in C++ looked pretty bad at least 2 years ago. I hope they rewrote it, because it surely looked like a security issue waiting to happen.

I actually wanted to try webtop for a long time, and did it only recently. I could not figure out these selkies for the life of me. It wanted a bunch of ports, was complaining about something all the time (don't remember, it's been a month). Might be a skill issue, but I've been using docker for the past 10 years. Moreover they want root access to the host system, which kind of defies one of the reasons to use containers. Is there a video that explains the benefits in a good way? I mean, if it's for gaming only, I can understand the use-case, but say you just want to run something like Gnu Radio in a container, why would I need 60 fps and root permissions for that.

Sentry consumes around 200W on Intel Atom and camera based detection enabled. I'd say it's a total overkill. It even heats up the display pretty good when it's relatively chilly outside.

Now imagine having hundreds of old oil wells around, some of them are rusted out and can totally transfer fluids up from down under to the water table level.

They probably need to inspect every well and make sure it's properly plugged with concrete, not just a cap on top.

I think not using an Orthodox Cross for the logo is a missed opportunity https://www.quora.com/What-does-the-emoji-symbol-stand-for

Great work! Why does autopilot stop around 12 min mark?

UPD: I see that it cannot load an mp3 file, net cache operation not supported. I reloaded / cleaned my cache, maybe you regenerated the sounds and I just had stale cache.

UPD2: Nope, still failing, ex: GET https://ambient.garden/vA/generated/audio/rdrone_2o3_2o3_7o6... net::ERR_CACHE_OPERATION_NOT_SUPPORTED

Seems to be specific to Chromium based browsers

I think Half-Life Alyx would qualify

Was searching for "enclosing the cutting blade in a vaccum", found this:

Personally, I've seen JPEG XL source code and I'd rather not have it in my production, unless it's rewritten or at least security audited / Google fuzz-tested. It's a bit of a mess (the last time I checked was 6 months ago)

Yeah I had the same feeling around the time MD was out, I think it was fixed by 4k and a bigger TV

Probably SM02: Cult of Personality

It's on-die, but it's not really any faster. The latency and bandwidth are pretty OK by today's standards. I suspect it's on-die because M1/M2 grew out of mobile CPUs. You might be referring to fast SSDs, but that's mainly true only for Pro versions. People who need >32 GB RAM usually know why they need it, you cannot really be running simulations out of your SSD swap. I'm not saying it's a proper use-case for a MacBook, I'm just saying that this guy might have some special requirements that do not align well with Apple laptops price-wise.

I had my 6S until last summer (when I upgraded to 11 non-pro, it's the last iphone with a non-flickering screen right now)

They did release the update to 12th though, and reportedly there's going to be an update to 13th.

But it was done already in widely known in narrow circles PlantUML years ago?

I agree. One of the reasons I chose iOS over Android around 2012 was because it worked really smooth, no stutters, everything is responsive. They are gradually removing it since iOS 7, the contact list was the first victim (you click on it, it displays, half a second after it updates, but you could have clicked a contact already and now you're calling the wrong person).

You can blindly type on P2 MAX, but it's not that small and is 600 grams. But like numbers and special characters are still a pain.

Which one did you have? I have P2 MAX (just changed the battery after 2-3 years), but rarely use it outside vacations. Cannot really see myself coding happily on it, even though the keyboard and the screen are decent it's not really comfortable for long typing sessions

Canadian healthcare system is a weird one. It works great if you have something known and life-threatening, in most other cases the system is optimized to delay and defer. It's always understaffed because nurses generally don't get paid enough, and the ones that work mostly optimize on throughput, not quality.

I had a family doctor in Ontario once that moved from the US and she was in shock how many people 'slip through the cracks' without a follow up after a test. She moved back shortly after. Now I'm in British Columbia and I cannot even get a family doctor because the waiting list in Burnaby (a suburb of Vancouver) is 10 years. And again any walk-in clinic optimizes on throughput, not quality.

I suspect once written it can be adapted to a wide range of Turing complete instruction sets.

I'm pretty sure it's done via collaborative filtering (other user preferences), and not the actual music features (like Pandora does, or did before).

I used to use Pandora (even in Canada with VPN), but the sound quality deteriorated for some reason and player options aren't so great. Even with a paid account it sounds worse than Spotify and library is not that huge compared to Spotify.

But back in a day in was an example of a perfect service, where you could just say what music features you like and it would play everything close to it, expanding the boundaries. You could also dislike songs and like them (which made channels really really convenient). I wish Spotify could do something like that.
