Money, degrees, and productivity are not metrics of a live well lived. There are metrics such as self-reported happiness, marriage and divorce rates, birth rates, and other things that paint a much fuller picture. You need to figure out what is good for you.
Some advice to other women developers. Take the money from silicon valley, then run to a cheaper place to live. Invest it well, and relax.
ex. Buy a duplex, and rent one part of it out to pay your bills.

Half of those aren't about pushing men into nursing or teaching, not many are in valued news oulets( abc go). Its mostly blog posts, others are about the difficulties being a male nurse or teacher.
I also just googled "men in nursing" and "men in teaching" as quick sanity check.
Its pretty clear there is nowhere the same level of push we have going for women in tech and nowhere near the same social validation for pushing men into those fields.
I found what personally helped me to overcome the insight bridge/gap was I had to read several different books to find the right analogy that helped achieve the "insight".
My company has interviewed many many boot camp candidates for the sole reason we can pay them less and work them harder, and they've also fired a lot. I can't say I approve of the company's philosophy here. But one of the most interesting finding our CTO mentioned is that people from the hard sciences stem are the ones who did the best, and stayed/kept. The humanities and some soft sciences did the worst at pure development.

Sonny: Can you?
Detective Del Spooner: (Doesn't respond, looks irritated)
EDIT : this a scene from the will smith movie
But I do feel it goes against Job's philosophy on stuff. I remember reading he hated the idea of stylus's for the phones because he lost them or thought people would lose them.
It's actually why I find some of the advice from the other female engineers so troubling. Our relationship attraction first started when he took me for coffee break, to see how I was doing after my 6 month probationary period ended.

Obama is for it, but Warren,Hillary,Trump,Stein are not for it.
Bernie supporters don't trust Hillary to be against it. McAuliffe said Hillary is actually for it.
Assange and Wikileaks say it will lead to the fascist rule of the oligarchy controlling every small part of our lives.
Then there the whole eff stance on it.https://www.eff.org/issues/tpp
I find it all so mind boggling.
The stuff you mentioned should probably be a separate conversion, but I do think there is probably overlap with the gender issue.
Its not about just technical ability, but social and economic power through jobs.
I'm pretty sure I'm not planning to tell them I'm pregnant if I can avoid it.
It seemed pretty clear most people considered compsci pretty low on the social status hierarchy.
