MojoJolo··on How I Hacked Facebook’s Secure Files Transfer Service for Employees
Let's also add the fact that he reported it so that it can be fixed immediately. :)
MojoJolo··on Why do most public toilet doors open inwards?
While it's not the main problem he's talking about, I think Marco Arment blogged a related solution for this. Here's the link, http://www.marco.org/2012/02/25/right-vs-pragmatic. It's a great post guys, I encourage you to read it. :)
MojoJolo··on Why do most public toilet doors open inwards?
I guess it is better to have both. A sink inside and a sink outside.
MojoJolo··on Hackulous shutdown
Besides, there are poor ppl out there with iDevices.

In my opinion, people should buy devices that they can only afford and maintain, together with the apps associated with that device.

MojoJolo··on Hackulous shutdown
After reading this a while ago, I thought that piracy in iOS is over. Then I learned that there are various apps that offers "pirated" apps. AppCake (http://iphonecake.com/appcake/en/) is an example.

But well, it's been a long time since I jailbreak-ed my iOS device. It is because I'm not really comfortable doing the jailbreaking process. Also, waiting for a jailbreak for new versions of iOS made me realized that there are various free apps that are good, or also better than paid apps.

MojoJolo··on Show HN: CSS3 animation
Your first difficulty is also my concern / question. Are there still no IDE that can do those animations? I know that there will be in the future. But I hope it will happen soon.
MojoJolo··on Show HN: CSS3 animation
Amazing showcase of CSS3 animation and of course, talent!

I know, it's not meant for mobile, but I'm just curious what will happen and tested it in my 4th gen iPod Touch. Too bad both Safari and Chrome in iOS6 crashed when I press the Start button.

MojoJolo··on Ask HN: what code text editor do you enjoy the most?
Sublime Text 2 for Mac and Notepad++ for Windows.
MojoJolo··on Ask HN: Moving to Redis, Any redis hosting?
May I ask why you chose Redis?

I love Redis, I'm using it as a storage for my application. But as I develop my app further, I realized that Redis also has it's disadvantage. First of all, it's not really a database. Well, it can work like it. It's faster than it. But I still feel that the stability of a database is better compared to Redis. Also, searching. Damn! I can't search through Redis. Or maybe it's hard to search keys, indexes, or such in Redis. It's possible, but I don't like how it will be done.

To answer you question, just use Redis To Go (http://redistogo.com/). Well, it's not in Cpanel but I think it's better that way. :)

MojoJolo··on Web browser market share of all times visualized
Can someone enlighten me. What happened in 1995 that let Netscape to grab the majority of the market share that Mozaic has in the past year (1994)? I was still a child at that time and I'm curious what happen.
MojoJolo··on Marc Andreessen:'Every Single Idea From The Dotcom Era Was Correct'
If that's the case, can a founder who failed in the dotcom era repeats his idea and might be successful?
MojoJolo··on How deep are your unit tests?
I agree with the first answer.

I'm not a fan of unit testing. I'm just doing it because it's a requirement (and we still have no QA).

Why I'm not a fan? Because I'm doing my own tests. And probably it has a bias all over it. I know when it will have a successful run and I expect where it will fail. This is not the scenario that I wanted. (I know this is not a good testing scenario)

In my opinion, a programmer must write a good code. And leave the testing to the QA.

MojoJolo··on Honouring computing’s 1843 visionary, Lady Ada Lovelace
I think the writer even though working at Google is not a tech guy.
MojoJolo··on Don't read TechCrunch
I'm reading TechCrunch regularly before entering the startup scene. Nowadays, I'm not reading it like before.

TechCrunch may provide misleading information for some. But when you're in a "startup" situation, you know will know what is right and what to believe in.

On other side, TechCrunch may mislead you, but they can be a good source of inspiration. They are talking about acquisitions, fundings, and successes. Why not use them as your inspiration? Strive hard, to achieve those.

MojoJolo··on Nudifier: Turn Any Photo Into a Hilarious Censored Nude
The title says different, but it looks fun judging by the pictures in the website. Currently downloading it! :)

Edit: Tried it! OMG. Nudifying your friend is so easy! I love its simplicity. And I'm laughing because of what I did. Can't wait to share it with my friends.

MojoJolo··on It's never too late to become an entrepreneur
Good insights sir, thank you. :)
MojoJolo··on It's never too late to become an entrepreneur
Good catch. Maybe those entrepreneurs she's talking about are those who have pretty good savings, benefits, or retirement pays. But a paragraph in her article said...

"Many older adults are having difficulty becoming re-employed. On average, it takes them about one year and often that new job is at a lower salary with fewer benefits, and part time rather than full time. With an uncertain economy, job shortages in many areas, skill mismatches, ageism and companies doing more with less -- the challenges are real."

In my understanding, she is somewhat encouraging those older adults to have a startup/small business/company. But she's encouraging those older adults that are in need of money (like to pay the bills) thus don't have that savings to start one.

MojoJolo··on It's never too late to become an entrepreneur
I'm happy that there are people in their late ages still doing entrepreneurship. But I wonder how are they managing the life of an entrepreneur with a family to feed, bills to pay, and age related issues (like energy decline). As I know life of an entrepreneur in a startup is very tiring and lack of sacrifice. So I wonder how they are doing it.

It is also my reason why I wanted to start at an early age. I still don't have a family to feed. No housing, electricity, water bills to pay because I can still live with my parents. And I still have the energy because I'm still young. With it, I can focus solely on my aim which is building a startup/company.

MojoJolo··on Dead, Alive, or Acquired? The Unofficial Y Combinator Company List
I'm curious about Carsabi (http://carsabi.com/). They said to be acqui-hired by Facebook in the news. But their website was a registered trademark for Ark.com Inc. Can't find a news about Ark's acquisition to its website.

Can someone tell me the story about it?

MojoJolo··on Nexus 4 available from Google today starting at noon PST
Nexus 4 round two... Starts... Noon!
MojoJolo··on Stripe's 22-Year-Old Irish-Born Founder Is Just Getting Started
This guy inspired me. I'm just reading about Stripe a while ago and I don't know the founder is just 22!

I'm 20, and I think I need to rush some things. I don't want to be late.

MojoJolo··on Researchers find Megaupload shutdown hurt box office revenues
Agree. I assume some of the trailers of the movies are automatically generated. There are these groups in my university conducting research of generating trailers / sound effects / background music. Choosing the best scenes in the movie automatically and combined them in a good way.
MojoJolo··on What people in 1899 thought would happen to travel technology
I'm also inclined to that answer.

But a quick thought though. Isn't art is inspired by imagination? Which is if "art is inspired by need", it maybe be just a need based from imagination. Maybe not a really a need.

MojoJolo··on What people in 1899 thought would happen to travel technology
I'm really wondering if technology just happens because there's a need, or just because it was based / inspired on art, movies, etc.
MojoJolo··on TL;DR — Faster News
Mine work well with that link. Thank you for your suggestions but the website I created is just a preview. Will work on it though. I'll keep you posted when I made some changes.

They are out of context because they (we) are basically just doing extraction. In which we just extract the most important sentences, arrange them in order, and present it in a paragraph / list. I prefer presenting the top sentences in a list though. In my opinion, presenting it as a paragraph will make an effect that it's out of context rather than in a list.

If the summaries was done through abstraction, like how humans are doing it, it will obviously produce better summaries. But why we are not doing it? I believe abstraction summaries are holy grail of automatic summarization.

MojoJolo··on TL;DR — Faster News
If you want my "TextTeaser" (http://textteaser.com/) can really help provide "faster news". I'm currently doing an API that accepts a URL as an input and returns a JSON result that contains the following: title, url, sentences with their respective scores.

The scores are based on title, sentence length and sentence position for now. Because there are more to come. They are included in the JSON output.

MojoJolo··on TL;DR — Faster News
Here's mine, http://textteaser.com/. It's basically an API that accepts the URL as an input and outputs a JSON result. It's only a preview so expect more to come.
MojoJolo··on Show HN: A personal Gmail
I will use it because of the UI (but for free). I love the simplicity. I'm also happy that you are using your own product. It's a good start that you satisfy needs with it.

If it has a very special feature, or will revolutionized the email, I'm sold! And I might pay for a subscription.

MojoJolo··on Computer Science or Software Engineering?
Computer Science is the science or the mathematics behind Software Engineering.

Software Engineering is a course when taking Computer Science. To further elaborate, software engineering is like a branch of Computer Science. In a venn diagram, Software Engineering is inside the Computer Science circle.

SE involves the process like agile, waterfall, scrum to create applications or system.

As the top answer in the link mentioned, Computer Science is the theory. And Software Engineering is the application of that theory / the practice. With it, Computer Science includes automata, discrete mathematics, neural networks, compiler theory, machine learning, and such.

MojoJolo··on How many founders do successful tech companies have?
The information here about a single founder backs the "doing it alone" thing, the top topic here in HN. (http://ryancarson.com/post/35939367603/you-can-do-it-alone)

I'm happy that there are a bunch of single founder companies. I'm planning to start one, as a single founder.
