MisterWebz··on Bringing asm.js to the Chakra JavaScript engine in Windows 10
Does this mean we'll soon have mobile web apps that rival native apps in terms of performance or will DOM manipulation still slow everything down?
MisterWebz··on Yanis Varoufakis: How I became an erratic Marxist (2013)
From the article, if you took the time to read it.

This determination to have the complete, closed story, or model, the final word, is something I cannot forgive Marx for. It proved, after all, responsible for a great deal of error and, more significantly, authoritarianism. Errors and authoritarianism that are largely responsible for the left’s current impotence as a force of good and as a check on the abuses of reason and liberty that the neoliberal crew are overseeing today.

MisterWebz··on Russian researchers expose breakthrough U.S. spying program
What do you mean by worse practices? Are you saying Russian spy agencies have more sophisticated capabilities? Do they target more innocent people?
MisterWebz··on A Russian TV Insider Describes a Modern Propaganda Machine
Thank you for letting me realize the reason I distrust most media outlets is because I've been brainwashed by Russian propaganda.
MisterWebz··on Ask HN: Facebook doesn't react on terrorists recruiting post, what to do?
There's a military base in use by rebels just 500m from the site of the attack. It looks like the Ukrainian military or the volunteer battalions missed their target. But I'm not here to convince you of anything, seeing as you've already made up your mind.
MisterWebz··on Ask HN: Facebook doesn't react on terrorists recruiting post, what to do?
Who are you calling terrorists? A bus in the rebel stronghold Donetsk just got blown up and 13 civilians died. Do you think the rebels bombed themselves?
MisterWebz··on New Snowden Docs Indicate Scope of NSA Preparations for Cyber Battle
So if you were operating 50 accounts to try to influence the debate you'd be posting 50 informative and persuasive comments? I doubt it, that would take way too much time.

If I were an NSA shill I'd just mention something about Snowden harming the US or Snowden being a spy. It's a controversial and dumb argument so it's going to get a decent amount of replies. It also doesn't take much effort. You'd derail the conversation, and informative comments would be drowned out by a bunch of people arguing whether Snowden is a hero or traitor.

MisterWebz··on A 12-Hour Window for a Healthy Weight
The mice constrained to eating high-fat high-sugar food in a 9 hour window still gained weight, but the importance of this is that they gained less weight than those mice whose constraint was a 12 hour window, despite eating the same amount of calories.

So try eating the same amount of calories as you do now, but in a smaller time window and you might lose weight.

MisterWebz··on British Prime Minister Suggests Banning Some Online Messaging Apps
Your theory doesn't make any sense. If this was indeed a false flag, then why would they go through the extra effort to fake the killing of a person?
MisterWebz··on Secret surveillance detected in Oslo
> So why and to whom is it vital to spy on these fax politicians whose international influence barely exceeds that of an American senator or governor or a member of a German Landtag?

Here's your answer.

MisterWebz··on It’s time to extend the US Privacy Act to EU citizens
The article doesn't seem to mention the methods the BND uses to target Turkey. It could be that they target specific individuals of the Turkish government instead of storing and analyzing everything that goes in and out of Turkey.

As for the question of Turkey being a valid target, let me remind you that several people in the Turkish government were planning a false flag operation in order to invade Syria.

MisterWebz··on Core Secrets: NSA Saboteurs in China and Germany
> ... Germany and others have hacked into us.

Could you elaborate? As far as I know, Germany has some kind of agreement to not spy on the US.

MisterWebz··on NSA/GCHQ: The HACIENDA Program for Internet Colonization
> people living outside of the 5-Eyes need to protect themselves.

I wonder what would happen if they started using Monstermind-like software?

MisterWebz··on Russia extends Snowden residency by three years
It might not have been orchestrated but it was heavily funded by the US. I seem to remember watching a video where a Ukrainian girl tries to emotionally explain why people should support Maidan. The video had almost 10 million views. I did some researching and it turns out the video was funded by a US senator. Then there's Pierre Omidyar funding opposition groups through USAID and who knows what kind of other funding Maidan has received.

I don't think it's a conspiracy that US successfully managed to get Ukraine out of Russia's hands. A good thing, some might say.

MisterWebz··on The NSA's Cyber-King Goes Corporate
I'm sure he'd charge them even more if it weren't for Snowden devaluing some of the information he knows.
MisterWebz··on Intestinal bacteria may influence our moods
Bacteria feed on nutrients we ingest with our food, and like people, bacteria don't use everything they eat. Whatever doesn't fuel their growth and reproduction, the bacteria expel as waste.

That waste gets into the blood and probably into the brain, changing its chemistry.

If this theory is correct, does it mean that a drastic change in diet might change a person's behavior? I'm imagining a future where people match their diet to their intestinal bacteria to increase or reduce the "waste" that gets produced to achieve a desired mood or behavior.

MisterWebz··on William Binney: 80% of audio calls are recorded and stored in the US
That is an incredibly weak argument.

First of all, whether they are shameless or not doesn't really matter. If sexually explicit pictures of a politician end up on the internet, his reputation takes damage. It's beyond his control. Plenty of politicians are willing to go to great lengths to avoid this. So what does it matter if he's shameless or not?

Second of all, politicians and other powerful people might have something to hide that isn't just embarrassing but is also illegal. It's certainly not beyond the capabilities of the NSA to target powerful people that oppose the NSA while ignoring those that support them.

For example, in the news you might read about a CEO that gets convicted of insider trading. Nothing to worry about, right? Well, what if the NSA purposefully targeted him because they don't like whatever it is he's doing? Using parallel construction, it wouldn't even have links to the NSA.

MisterWebz··on Julian Assange AMA on Reddit
He doesn't want to live in the Ecuadorian embassy for the rest of his life and calls for help. How incredibly selfish of him.
MisterWebz··on Google takes steps to comply with EU's 'right to be forgotten' ruling
You forgot to include North-Korea in your list of scary sounding countries.
MisterWebz··on What does GCHQ know about our devices that we don't?
One of your submissions is titled "Former spook on Reddit AMA". It links to a thread on Reddit that was created by a user named "Zen Pro".
MisterWebz··on What does GCHQ know about our devices that we don't?
Not just somebody, but a self-proclaimed former spook.

A bit further down this thread you can see how one of his counter-arguments consisted of telling someone his Android book had terrible reviews. What's funny about this is that it fits neatly with one of JTRIG's purposes of destroying reputations.

Although he did such a hilariously bad job of trying to destroy someone's reputation, I doubt he's anything other than a troll.

But now that I think of it, he did succeed in derailing a big part of this thread, so maybe he knows what he's doing.

MisterWebz··on Snowden: Why hasn’t DNI Clapper been punished for lying to Congress?
“I salute Sen. Feinstein,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference of the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. “I’ll tell you, you take on the intelligence community, you’re a person of courage, and she does not do that lightly. Not without evidence, and when I say evidence, documentation of what it is that she is putting forth.”

Pelosi added that she has always fought for checks and balances on CIA activity and its interactions with Congress: “You don’t fight it without a price because they come after you and they don’t always tell the truth."

MisterWebz··on Vkontakte Founder Flees Russia
Maybe my reading comprehension is failing me, but where exactly does the article say Snowden had contact with agents of the Russian government while he was still in Hong Kong?
MisterWebz··on Reddit downgrades technology community after censorship
> by comparing users account age, their topic of conversation and the techniques they use.

Wouldn't that give you a lot of false positives?

Perhaps you could first try finding accounts with similar writing style. Though I'm not sure about the accuracy of such algorithms.

MisterWebz··on Condoleezza Rice Joins Dropbox’s Board As It Names New CFO, COO
"I happen to think marriage is between a man and a woman. That's tradition, and I believe that that's the right answer" - Condoleezza Rice

Someone call OkCupid and notify them of this so they can start working on their next PR campaign.

MisterWebz··on Israeli hackers counter attack: posting private photos of anti-Israel hackers
I wonder how they found these OpIsrael participants in the first place. I assume they just went into an IRC channel dedicated to OpIsrael and struck up conversations with gullible people to try and get their personal information. I doubt these are the people responsible for the credit card and email leaks from several days ago.
