I'm a bit confused. Why not just Codex...?
I'm not a CEO. If I don't own the code I write, I couldn't care less. Personal code is another story.
As to learning, are there really any adults offloading learning to AI?
Shouldn't the title be something like "Trillion dollar corporation forces small opensource project from blocking their attack against users' browser"?
What's wrong with people?
There is also a huge space between "obeying the laws and policies in the most conservative sense" (which is what you described) and being "illegal".
> do you apply this everywhere
In fact I do.
> should I let them because they can illegally shoot me
I'm not suggesting what you should do. That's up to you. I'm just saying the government can do a lot more than you think and get away with it, including "illegally" shooting you in circumstances. It's always a balance of risks. For me personally, If a normal cop ask to enter I'll refuse. But if it's ICE? That's suddenly a much harder choice.
Actually no I'll probably die either way. Who cares.
Say no to regulations and security --> Fine, forced correction, fewer customers, shutdown.
Say no to ethics --> money (at least for AI companies)
Why is this so hard to understand?
A reasonable test is what I call the enhanced Feynman test: teach what you learnt to others, and be able to defend against reasonable questions.
A stretch goal I sometime use is to be able to read recent papers on the topic.
