MeteOzturk··on Vortex: OpenCL Compatible RISC-V GPGPU
What Nvidia brings to the table with both the Jetson line and the Tegra line is precisely those GPGPU's. The ARM parts are pretty standard I believe. What I meant was if there was enough interest and development around an open-source architecture for GPGPU's and Neural processing it would have the potential to become a competitor to Nvidia's offering. I am confident it would take years to become a worthy competitor in the desktop and server markets. Edge and portable devices I am not so sure.
MeteOzturk··on Vortex: OpenCL Compatible RISC-V GPGPU
I am curious how RISC-V GPGPU development would affect Nvidia’s support for the platform. So far they seemed to be supportive. They’ve contributed NVDLA. They’re a member of the foundation. It’s not far-fetched to think a Jetson with high performance RISC cores is already in development. I hope they won’t back out if they deem a strong edge platform competitor is not in their best interest.
MeteOzturk··on Corundum: Open-source, high performance, FPGA-based NIC
Might be silly question but is there a technique to rapidly program FPGA's without interrupting other processes. Say I have multiple soft-CPU's and only want to use my gates to enable ethernet once its needed or the user plugs in?

MeteOzturk··on Intel kills Kaby Lake G, vows to offer drivers for five years
Why wouldn't this solution make sense for apple? They seem to be bound to Intel for processors, they practically hate Nvidia and they are fans of smaller highly integrated products?
MeteOzturk··on OpenRex – Open Source Hardware Project
Is anyone aware of a similar open-source hardware project around camera sensors image processing?
MeteOzturk··on Apple Monitoring Blood Glucose
Cross pollination between life sciences and consumer electronics will deliver amazing opportunities for chronic disease patients. Non-Invasive blood analysis can deliver new treatment opportunities for diabetes patients. This is an amazing field to innovate in indeed.

My startup enigma.bio is working on low power laser spectroscopy blood analysis techniques inside the tympanic canal for the last 3 years. Seeing interest in the field from large players is exciting.
