MathieuGosselin··on The future of search will be visual
hey dclara. Actually we've tried that but put it on the side for the moment. Certain sites had iframe buster and it would swallow the whole page, which was irritating. Actually we solved that issue recently so we might as well get it back. Thanks for the tip!
MathieuGosselin··on Flash: 99% Bad
You'll eventually regret flash when all those banners will be replaced by their HTML5 equivalent ;-)
MathieuGosselin··on Seedcamp London 2011 Winners announced
I am really proud to be a part of the winners.(Mathieu from Psykosoft) I wasn't expecting this at all!

There are some amazing talent amongst the other start-ups, there is no losers in this kind of event.

Everybody learnt (including myself) so much during the mentoring sessions that it is already what i would consider winning.

I am sure some guys there (i am thinking of Bipsly for instance) have a huge potential and will do great but eventually don't have a very mature product yet.

The constant i see in the 'winning' (i should say 'selected') start-ups is that they have a finished product and already quite a bit of traction, therefore qualify more in a logical investor mind to a 'funding'. So it would be fairer to say the ones that "didn't win" just "didn't get selected for a funding" which happen all the time ;-)

i see. Thanks for this feedback then.

That's rather odd you say this because i totally agree with you that users don't want to be aware of the UI and that is exactly why there is no tools everywhere one the screen like other softwares, so you can focus entirely on your artwork.

We made the choice of innovating in almost every aspect of this software (tools, UI, Design) and took some bold decisions that indeed the most conservative users might be not understand. We are not named Psykopaint to do things the old-fashion way.

Thanks for the feedback MindTwister. I take note of it and will add a mute button dedicated to you. With your name on it. ;-)

hi there! i am the creator of this software. Can you tell me which version of Chrome are you running so i can look into that. If you have any suggestions regarding the UI in order to improve it, please do so! So i can make sure one day you'll dig this software ;-)

interesting. Can you let me know which version of flash and safari are you using so i can have a look? For some odd reason only safari makes problems. It was such an headache to already get the facebook integration because of their weird javascript handling policies... ;-)
MathieuGosselin··on Psykopaint an online photopainting app
that's rather odd. Which version of safari are you using? And flash player 10.1 or 10.2 ? But It could also be because you have javascript disabled. one of those. Please let me know. So it can be fixed!

Hi estacado. Sorry to hear that :-( Normally You need to be logged in before you can save your image. Once you are and click the save button and choose a path it is saved instantly to your computer. There is no download as everything is client side! Let me know if you have further issues! Thanks

Hi runaway. It took me a while to figure this out but i manage to bypass frame busters. Please have a look again. Bank of America is one of the few exceptions where you won't be able to browse it directly (and that's good because a banking website is supposed to be secure! Although there is no bad intent with psykomatic this technic is sometimes used for spoofing! So thumbs up to them) but you can still click on the thumbnail to browse the page and it won't break the search to 'birds' anymore ;-)

Hey Giraffe rider. I updated the site. Please have a look again. Thanks for the feedback.

Really useful. I was fool enough to assume that it would work with same browser on different system. ;-)

MathieuGosselin··on The fastest search engine ever made. Period.
oh i see! That's rather unfortunate. Some websites steal the keyboard focus or have iframe buster that swallow the whole page.

I didn't find an elegant solution in order to avoid this yet. In the meantime, please consider the site as a proof of concept and try with an other letter ;-)

which system/browser are you on?
MathieuGosselin··on The fastest search engine ever made. Period.
thanks for the comment. That must be an iframe/javascript issue. Will look into that!

Thanks for the comment. can i ask which system are you on? mac/win? browser?

cheers

Thanks for the comment. I will look into that ;-)

by typing 'b' into the box it will look for the most relevant search with something starting with b. That means statistically 'bank of america' is the most searched term for users who starts with a letter 'b' in the US. Psykomatic search as you type so it will filter little by little the results until you get to your target. ;-) But there are chances your reach it before you finished typing.

If the suggestion is not what you wanted you just need to press enter to override the search.

yes, that's because some websites use a framebuster to not allow their sites to be embedded in iframes. Therefore the content absorb the page. Since i totally understand their point and i think most users doesn't search in a web page anymore but rather in the browser, i am thinking of puting together a new kind of web browser around this idea. Or try to find a frame buster buster...

the biggest ideas are the smallest stuffs like that. This is deadly useful! Wish you good luck with this idea!
