Malice··on Bayesian Analysis of Racial Bias in Police Shootings in the United States
> Deputies say

There are very strong incentives for the Deputies to paint themselves in the best possible light in this situation. I would go as far as to say there is literally no value in what the Deputies say happened. Video of the incident, uninvolved bystander reports are what's needed.

It's a regional thing, more common some places than others. Australian English speaker, lived in Chicago for 10 years, it's very common there.

My best guess for the origin was as an opposite to "on purpose".

> it's not orders of magnitude better than the Space Shuttle

I think it might be. The Space Shuttle cost an estimated $1B / launch. So while it was technically reusable, it wasn't practically reusable in the same way that Musk is aiming for (launch, land, refuel, refly).

Much less than that. Closer to 4,000mph (from memory). You're thinking about 2nd stage.

I am also racist and sexist although I'd imagine that no one realizes it.

I work hard to take individuals as I find them and not prejudge. I think the best thing to do is try to minimize the effect of your biases on your actions and keep working to eliminate them. Not sure what else one could do.
