Old IE fixes a slight dirty, BUT can't get more basic HTML / CSS then this.
(Train delayed, Killing Time, Rainbows, etc.)
HTH Author.
If anything, all the author expresses is the disappointment of his own expectations while not adding anything constructive.
Looking at the screenshots what he wants to achieve is perfectly doable cross browser but as per the author admission he's not much of a front-end guy.

The manager said: ``I should have never sent you to the conference. Those programmers live beyond the physical world. They consider life absurd, an accidental coincidence. They come and go without knowing limitations. Without a care, they live only for their programs. Why should they bother with social conventions?
``They are alive within the Tao.''

Unfortunately, within 30 seconds of the heads being loaded a high-pitched whining noise began to be emitted from the drive, implying a potential head-to-disk contact was taking place. The drive was then powered down and the disk pack and heads were carefully examined. Thorough examination revealed that Head #4 on the drive (which reads the bottom surface of the lowest data platter) had 'crashed' into the disk surface and scraped away a concentric ring of oxide material, permanently damaging the platter. This is a good time to point out the advantages of not experimenting with your primary source material when performing digital archeology experiments!

"Still in the developmental phase, upon the death of Dr. Dobelle, selling the eye for profit was ruled against in favor of donating it to a publicly funded research team."
While on topic, Also see BrainPort. A tongue display unit. Despite the name it requires no invasive surgery.
The lack of any meaningful fallback is disappointing. Accessibility to content should at all stages be a priority.
I think the "fear" is that once a non-web weary designer get's going with this there will be absolutely no regard for performance impact since it will render fine on what ever pimped up work station is in use.
Meanwhile on platforms with lesser hardware where the browser does not have a full hardware render pipeline the performance will likely be even worse then flash.
In fact, with the ferris wheel demo Safari eats 10% CPU time, Chrome 30%, Firefox 50% on a single core. System: OS X 10.6.8, GF 9400M.
Next thing to happen: "Disable javascript / css to save battery life on your device". :)

By that same token, wouldn't that be a reason to push IPv6 more into the market place as everybody wins in the end ?
Ironically the final boss battle is the most Duke3D like gameplay moment of the entire game.
"An open / distributed alternative. Facebook today is like some initial proprietary version of email. Sooner or later, an open standard protocol for "sharing" and "social networking" (EMAIL + FOAF?) will take over. (And it has to be distributed, like email) That's what we're building at the mo :)"
