Lior539··on OpenClaw plugin for finding remote jobs
Hi everyone. I hacked together a plugin for OpenClaw to make it your personal job hunting assistant.

It can: • Send the best matches directly to your WhatsApp/Telegram/etc. • Scan for new jobs every hour • Filter based on your requirements • Rank roles against your resume

Result: zero manual searching. Just hyper-relevant jobs sent to you automatically.

Lior539··on Companies hiring remote software engineers anywhere in the world

Good to know! I had a look and actually my job board already has Sourcegraph jobs (I scrape jobs from all over the internet) - https://www.remoterocketship.com/company/sourcegraph

However, they were all classified as hiring in the US only. The reason is that the location is listed as "Remote". I used to classify "Remote" as "Anywhere in the world", however I found that many US companies tend to list the location as "Remote" but are only hiring for people based in the US (Companies in other countries will always include the country in the location field e.g. "Remote - UK"). Hence now I only classify the hiring location as "Worldwide" if the location field includes phrases such as "Worldwide" or "Anywhere in the world" etc.

Lior539··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (December 2022)
Oh no! Thanks for flagging. I've fixed this issue now

For the folks on this page looking for remote jobs: I've created a page where you can easily filter through jobs posted here by hiring location, salary, tech stack and company size.

I'd love to hear your feedback on it :)

Lior539··on Why the Gov.uk Design System team changed the input type for numbers (2020)
On a side note, the Gov.UK site is one of the best sites Ive come across, especially for a government. It's incredibly simple and easy to navigate. It's easy to find any information you're looking for and all information is explained in very clear and simple english (unlike many other government sites, which are convoluted and fill of jargon).

IMO this is the gold standard for government websites

Lior539··on Show HN: A Slack bot that sends chocolates to your coworkers
Hey Festro. Thank you for your thoughts!

Re pricing and batching: 100% agree. I also thought that limiting it to X uses per month would make it feel more special e.g. if you only have 1 chocolate to give per month, it means more when you send. However I thought for the mvp I wouldn't add these features just yet.

Re the video quality: Yeah its a gif. It takes quite long to load too since its quite large (14MB). I wasnt able to figure out how make it high quality and load quick at the same time. If anyone has any ideas how to do this, would love to know! (It's built using NextJS)

Lior539··on Show HN: A Slack bot that sends chocolates to your coworkers
This is a side-project of mine: It's harder to connect with your coworkers when working remotely. At my previous job it was common to take coworkers out for coffee/lunch if they did something especially helpful for you. In order to replicate this in a remote setting, I built ChocBot
