Imagine you are infected. Its not lethal. Just different. The air smells like chocolate. And you get hypnotized and high- by fire. But is not dangerous- after all- all you know are infected. Your family. Your tribe. The whole world is infected, so anyone not infected, would be "sick" objectively.

So every day, you gather what you can find, and you carry it to the pile. The pile is a never ceasing fire, burning in a mile high chimney, errected in competitions among tribes. Its hard to ignore- all those walking towards the firestorm, carrying sacrifices- once the sunrise and sunset mass orgasm subsides.

Maybe you found coal, you have talent, you are worthy, you can feel the burning envy of the others. The one left to you, carries some brushes, the one right to you carries a struggling fat deer. Oh, how it will burn, oh the joys.

All of you have the mycelium behind your eyes- that spark never to cease. At the distance, some youths howl insults at the caravan, not strong enough to carry yet, dismissing the joys of the front row out of jealousy. They will find something, find their place, they will wake up to the joy, carrying some dehydrated, light husk to the pillar of awe. Even now they are hiding some candle or torch.

You slough towards the heat, some sweating the ash off, some collapsing, even in spasms- the eye on the inferno and its priests. Some are deprived off the joy, to deliver coolant, to maintain roads or shovell ashes. The joyless, you pity them- you hit them if they come between you and the pyre. Then the orange fills the world, joy is you, and you dance, forward, backward. Foam is on your mouth. Till you collapse from your body giving way. A Joyless carries you home, some lonely replaceable hole, in a well organized dessert, a empty cave in the anthill on a empty plain - where you, where you all sleep. For tomorrow, before dusk you will rise.

You will walk out into the inferno- telling yourself, that you are pure. One of the lucky few, to be burned away, for another day. You are the burning men. You always wanted this.

Reminds me of that article about the embassy bug that was posted here last week - in theory you could design a passive signal amplifier into the pcb, which only lights up when beeing iluminated at a key frequency. Doesent even have to be energy supplied or otherwise active.

Yes, but it would behave like a wave. You could make a gravity sonar for planets with it.

There worst scifi books are the post famous price ones.

The author has a contract, all competition has been eternally removed from his mindset. He made it. Finally he can, drone on and on about some obscure infodump he found.

Or even worser, show it to those upper class snobs & critic, who claimed that writing good characters and prose is as far out of the league for sciFi, as if it where burried at a rainbows end.

Imagine if you had a really, really fine tuned sensor for gravity, you could move a mass on one side of the system, and detect that move on the other side, communicating with gravity waves.
LifeLiverTransp··on Spark of genius: Zapping the brain improves creativity?
Creativity as in non-incremental, real new creativity, is about connecting things that are not connected. You connect a boulder going down a hill with a Piece of wood a friend carpenters into a table- and you got a wheel.

Now the brain is ruthlessly efficient when it comes to not do things that are not rewarded. Beeing creative means having tons of such connections missfire- and if you do not reward that process over time, by following some of the more plausible misfires- your brain will reduce that behaviour.

Conciously rewarding these missfirings, and not supress them by filtering out "irrelevant nonsense because we already have a ideal procedure" is a way to train for more creativity.

I wonder wether this center of mass moving around in the sun, is producing - time delayed of course- the "sun-weather" aka, the dark spots and solarflares..

Something else:

Technical the orbit, is a spiral of the whole system around the center of mass, slightly deteriorated by remainders of old interactions.

Which got me thinking, if you run a astronomical simulation backwards- can you computate old interactions and "gone" missing bodys from that? Use celestial motion as a sort of archive-trail to go back along?

Then there are the constant pushere for social controll, who claim to do it for for decency and human kindness, but when the situation boils down the ingredients, you find its mostly because controlling other peoples lives, resources and creations is what they really want.

The radicalisation on 4chan, was produced by all those external echo chamber snuffing out that little speakers corner for weirdos. Reddit, Tumblr, all that comercial ilk, you serve so gladly, which aggregates people by doing the equivalent of a medieval mob ralley - created this nightmare.

Say it with me: "Its very cost effective, to be a radical in a attention economy. I brought this on society to earn a livelihood, and now want to shift the blame towards those places where the polarization i created, becomes most visible, be it a tavern or a brothel. Im a monster and should be hunted down by the monsters i created if there was justice to this world."

Of course if you would ever admit that, all those "nice, constructive people, wanting only the best for people" while blindly shoving there ideology forwards, no matter what the consequences, would become all edgy.

Dont you forget something- hydrogen if hydrolizes takes place in situa - aka directly below a windpower or solar-plant, has the lowest conversion loss right there.. Also storage can be improved by now chemically - meaning you bind it to a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_storage#Liquid_organi...

Its a good thing, as designer you dont have to proof your concept by merit- aka, make a linux-distro and see wether it ships. No, you convince and preach to the higher ups, build up hype and then drop you creation on all those lowly creatures like a 500 pound bomb and needed that much.
