LatexNinja··on Ask HN: Are there any cheap configurable time-based OTP tokens?
You could easily program a pi-zero or other mini to accept the otp text format using something like these

https://www.passwordstore.org/ https://github.com/tadfisher/pass-otp

Then to insert the pass... something like this to convert from QRCode if text format isn't available:

zbarimg -q --raw /tmp/canvas.png | pass otp insert some-new-otp

to retrieve

pass otp some-new-otp -c

LatexNinja··on Ask HN: What's your backup setup?
I run linux for work and windows for gaming between a laptop and desktop. For the files I use frequently I unison those between machines. For backups I send everything to an encrypted removable HD on my home network using some rsync scripts I wrote. For the cloud you can't trust any of them with your data privacy. But I still send off some stuff to amazon cloud drive (encrypted of course) using rclone.
LatexNinja··on Ask HN: Learning PHP through Wordpress
Definitely! But there are two sides to that. The WordPress way and the not so WordPress way whatever that tends to be. WordPress makes a lot of things really simple by using wrapper functions and making core API's available to help make development easier on the platform. In turn some vital aspects of PHP won't make it into your skill set at least in the beginning. Things like creating a socket for the DB, CRUD and stuff like that. I wouldn't consider that much of anything to worry about though because you would still be learning PHP in the end. The cool thing about WordPress is that the community is pretty awesome and amount of good information you can find is vast. In the end though code is code so just pick something you enjoy learning and working with because the possibilities are endless and eventually you'll be learning something new anyways.
