Lacerda69··on Apple Bricked my AirPods and now wants me to buy new ones
I tried them a few times but plugs are just not my thing; the quality is horrendous; they are overpriced; connect badly or not at all to non apple device; and break easily.

If using airpods is selfgrowth im very happy to stay small

I doubt that unless it's criminal evidence or something

just put in on the street with a sign. At least in my area this are gone quickly if they are still good quality
Lacerda69··on Apple Bricked my AirPods and now wants me to buy new ones
airpods are literal garbage; I never understood why everyone uses them

This can be done with img2img and Controlnet on Stable Diffusion. But still a lot of manual work involved at least in my setup.

Lacerda69··on A case for the capacity to reason of GPT-4
I think you can interpret the quote several ways thats Why i like it so much. I mostly understand it as the "swimming" of a submarine is a different thing than the swimming of a human so its moot to compare it. But your interpretation is also valid I think.
Lacerda69··on A case for the capacity to reason of GPT-4
"The question of whether a computer can think is no more interesting than the question of whether a submarine can swim."

Yes, they wont learn otherwise.

Lacerda69··on Don't use Discord as your Q&A forum
Amazon is absolute garbage, no idea why people praise it so much. Scams all around and garbage products - ill take a bad return policy any day over that.
Lacerda69··on Don't use Discord as your Q&A forum
I swing the banhammer early and often without remorse. If you don't learn after being reminded, there is no use keeping you around. 1 bad person can ruin it for everyone else - not having that. I believe in second chances but not in online communities.

Lacerda69··on Co-founder of DeepMind on how AI threatens to reshape life as we know it
im just saying that the development of a human like robot is not necessary. if that robot is as smart as a human you might as well use actual humans.
Lacerda69··on Co-founder of DeepMind on how AI threatens to reshape life as we know it
what the point of a robot? just have a kid, it's more flexible and smart than any robot in the forseeable future
Lacerda69··on Natural beekeepers are the radical dissenters of apiculture
Ok maybe its just a mutually very benificial relationship and we could survive without each other; but it's nicer together.
Lacerda69··on Natural beekeepers are the radical dissenters of apiculture
As always with these kinds of headlines the answer is no.

Humans live in a symbiotic relationship with bees, we can not exist without each other.

Lacerda69··on Button Pushes You (2022)
Rejecting authority is never "a paved road" or easy otherwise it would not be authority. The world has moved on since the 60s and individualism has had disastrous effects on society and nature (even if it also brought great advances and freedom to some parts of the world)
Lacerda69··on So you want to build your own open source chatbot
Honestly the LLM bots I tried so far are great at dealing with this situation.

They have infinite patience and will explain anything in great detail.

The one I am using for support does not hallucinate, will link the appropriate docs in the answer and tells the user if they cant answer a question and will escalate to human support.

IMO this is the future and I think its a huge improvement over the status quo.

Lacerda69··on So you want to build your own open source chatbot
I would use a public bugtracker and a separate email for customer/billing issues. But those are easy to resolve and if you setup is solid there should not be too many issues.
Lacerda69··on So you want to build your own open source chatbot
People don't read the docs. It is a tiny minority that will read the docs and the bot trained on your documentation does provide helpful answers based on your documentation. If the bot answers are unhelpful, but then also the people reading wont get helpful answers from your docs - then you need to improve the documentation. These are two separate problems.
