Kreutzer··on Harvard President Claudine Gay resigns
There’s only one reason she was forced out and it had nothing to do with plagiarism.
Kreutzer··on Nobody knows what's happening online anymore
Ironic that a good chunk of your comment history is evaluating this or that news story, conspiracy, or talking point from this or that social media outlet. What a miserable way to live.
Kreutzer··on The destruction of Gaza's internet is complete
Genocidal activities with the goal of removing the ethnic people entirely from a region. I didn’t wish to “refute anything”, not sure what you are commenting on.
Kreutzer··on The destruction of Gaza's internet is complete
Here’s an historical corollary:

“ The ethnic cleansing of Zamojszczyzna by Nazi Germany (German: Aktion Zamosc,[4] also: Operation Himmlerstadt)[5] during World War II was carried out as part of a greater plan of forcible removal of the entire Polish populations from targeted regions of occupied Poland in preparation for the state-sponsored settlement of the ethnic German Volksdeutsche.”

Kreutzer··on Kevin McCarthy ousted as speaker in Republican-led House
I agree. But both parties also actively obstruct third party candidates from appearing on states' ballots. For example: https://apnews.com/cbd7947a020a1c5983a69e804ce3a5f8
Kreutzer··on AI is just someone else's intelligence
Yes, it just queries. I'm confused why people would confuse this with intelligence. It's like an upgraded Clippy.
Kreutzer··on Guidelines for Brutalist Web Design (2018)
I’m not sure what that is, but throwing my hat in for www.marxists.org
Kreutzer··on SpaceX Starship rocket explodes minutes after launch from Texas
Destruction of the sensitive ecosystems in and around the ocean, no doubt.
Kreutzer··on Thomas Pynchon, famously private, sells his archive
I didn't say it was....
Kreutzer··on Thomas Pynchon, famously private, sells his archive
Pynchon hired post-docs to research the dotcom bubble and cultural ephemera of the time for BLeeding Edge. Many other writers employ researchers for their writing as well, James Ellroy comes to mind. It's a kind of open secret in the publishing industry. Of course, writers and their publishers alike would prefer if readers had no idea of this.
Kreutzer··on South Dakota first to ban TikTok on state-owned devices
>who said there was?

Fresh off the presses, courtesy of the paper of record:

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/07/opinion/xi-loosens-up-it-...

Some tidbits:

"The government’s response, though, does not, of course, address the larger yearning for an end to autocracy."

"Those brave protesters have changed China’s national policy, and their broader yearning for rights can no more be extinguished than a virus; someday the Chinese Communist leadership will have to respond to that very human aspiration."

Kreutzer··on The Twitter Files
The democrats endorsed law enforcement funding through the midterms and helped pass funding for police through congress in September. What planet do you live on?

Also calls for reparations are a liberal agenda, not a socialist one.

Kreutzer··on South Dakota first to ban TikTok on state-owned devices
there was also a labor protest at a foxconn factory last week, but it seems to have failed to capture the liberal imagination in the same way as these “white paper” protests, gee I wonder why

Kreutzer··on The Twitter Files
Yeah I think twitter started rotting Taibbi's synapses around that time. He's become so hyper-concerned with the hypocrisy of liberals that he's not even aware how he's just become a gullible parrot for right-wing spew. Sorry but I’m done with all this fake moral outrage about a laptop or whatever.
Kreutzer··on South Dakota first to ban TikTok on state-owned devices
The actual amount of protests in China were laughably small in comparison to how the state depart... I mean 'free press' in the US portrayed it. Yes, there were reasonable protests against zero-Covid measures, no there was no revolution in progress.
Kreutzer··on Why America’s Railroads Refuse to Give Their Workers Paid Leave
I sincerely wish railway workers wildcat the economy into the ground.
Kreutzer··on Why America’s Railroads Refuse to Give Their Workers Paid Leave
>they can't hire more people because almost no one is willing to enter the industry because there's no profit to be made, and yet everything depends on it running smoothly.

I agree, nationalize the railroads. Not reading the rest of your turgid weirdo libertarian spew, have a great weekend :)

Kreutzer··on Why America’s Railroads Refuse to Give Their Workers Paid Leave
Pot calling the kettle black. This has nothing to do with inflation or even pay rate for the workers. It is strictly about quality of life and paid time off.
Kreutzer··on Huawei phones automatically deleting videos of the protests?
The author of the tweet is entirely aware she is spreading unproven rumors, just glancing through her articles she's penned it's mostly propaganda pieces meant to support more aggression towards China (note: she does not live in China).

Here's a few choice quotes:

"And then came the laughable claim in Xi’s speech that China does not ‘carry aggressive or hegemonic traits in its genes’"

"The idea that Trump’s ‘China virus’ rhetoric is xenophobic is puzzling. "

Kreutzer··on Burnham, Elon, and the Revenge of Entrepreneurial Capitalism
This behavior isn’t atypical for him, nor is it for the “elite” celebrity entrepreneurs featured in endless news cycles. Reminds me of Dov Charney, an employer I worked for, who was more than willing to chase his coked-up half-baked ideas at expense of his company and the livelihoods of thousands of workers. I’m afraid Elon is not a novel case nor an interesting one.
Kreutzer··on The death of the key change
Yes, those 'lifting' key changes in MJ's songs may seem gratuitous, but key changes were used more subtlety by, for instance, Beatles to enrich the music with expressiveness even at the expense of musical common sense. And if anything, pop music today is just too uniform.
