Opinion: NASA puts JPL on Blast, maybe a more proactive approach should be putting themselves on blast for not having the ability to take responsibility for joint project failures, enough with blame games, this is suppose to be a collaborative endeavor to explore and advance our collective knowledge. We f'd it up as a partner with beurocractic mismanagement, time to own our own mistakes and learn from them instead of finger pointing all the time. Reminds me of that time we decided to code imperial and metric into a system that accidentally and successfully tested how to plow a large amount of money into the surface of Mars. Let's all do better together.
Largely agree with this in terms of hardware power consumption, however there are some key factors missing, specifically in terms of operating system architecture, software and related background processes which have been largely introduced in this time frame as well. A prime example is YouTube and hover over playback. My pc will "idle" at around 35 to 40 celcious (11k series intel cpu with no graphics capabilityon ks format) depending on ambient room temperature, simply mouse hovering over a video preview, I consistently see 50c or more on the cpu while the preview plays. This is akin to temperatures I see at gaming loads and other render heavy operations. Windows has also become a hungry data "grabby" power hog, but I suppose it takes a lot of cycles to scrape all that user keystroke data etc., etc. Nvidia and their multitudes of containers also take a toll, the list goes on.
A little background on my own recent machine upgrade, self built and admittedly power hungry even with power settings and clock rates set to "default" in most cases. I don't game much if at all anymore and a lot of the joy of building was lost after this last one. I was among the archetype of the over clocking crowd for some time. That being said I learned a lot from de-lidding, understang RAM clocks, how it relates to ras, cas operation, rops etc. In a way it forces you to understand the minutia of the "little" things, both hardware and software related that bottleneck that "5%" gain in performance. Over clocking was for a time my forum of social media where I could hash out my design process with other like minded people doing the same.
(Opinion) This all feels like a push to box folks into largely terrible pre-built machines which themselves aren't efficient for what they provide in performance, more flagrantly it objectively feels like the home pc is being purposefully erroded into cloud access nodes, vm boxes etc. There are tradeoffs some positive and negative but again feels like an industry play to push cloud enforcement and further user research, testing, data storage strategies etc. Sorry if this is ranty its just been a thorn in my side over the last few years, and it feels exponential.
Personally, NASA, ESA or similar organization advancing science that will benefit scientific discovery and further development and understanding of current models, with a goal of sustainability for ethical social growth. I suppose the goal is more important than company/place/org etc. I just want to find somewhere I can make a difference, even if it's in the background. I'm at a personal point in my life where titles don't matter to me, only the positive changes I can bolster or create. Money is transient, I'd be happier with stability, i.e. healthcare, food and safe sustainable housing, general quality of life and the ability to interact with like minded folk. Titles and locations are great for representing my pride to others but for me that does not reflect my own personal pride in what I'm working on.
Still diving into this domain, is this akin to tensor basis in terms of Euclidean stores, e.g. a basis of 1 in this posts storage notation of objects shared between 8 devices, hence covariant allocation?
Still draw physical logic maps for c++, may be habitual at this point but commenting/documenting has saved me a lot of time by spending fractionally less "extra" time just doing it. Cudos to red herrings and a great Professor in my past. (1)To answer your question directly, more than a decade...
The information is so limited it's impossible to ascertain what even exploded, speculation is easy, ie: could have been a portable screen and had a lithium battery that exploded, was struck by debris after another object exploded etc. Haven't checked other sources for validity or updates.
I always thought I had difficulty in approaching mathematical thinking and approaches, labeled as "math deficient". I re-approached mathematics through functional linguistics and have been rather successful in reframing and understanding both logic and functional mathematics and concepts. This may be an approach that doesn't work for everyone as I have always had a higher aptitude for language especially as a bilingual individual. I found much of my deficiencies related to math were related to traditional teaching approaches and my own "mistranslation" of mathematical terms and concepts from my native German, relative to functional conjugation. For example 42 in German directly translates to English as four and twenty out of context. In a sense I retrained or rather reframed my approach through linguistics and have found it has bolstered my math ability as well as my approach to learning other languages etc.
This is very akin to something that I have been interested in for some time. Being bilingual myself, German and English, and having a keen interest in historical natural language progression and evolution has led me down a few roads related to learning models and personal experiences. Testing teaching approaches for myself in regards to other languages using non traditional models and approaches, many may seem abstract but this is how I feel language learning should be approached. The cookie cutter methodology of one size fits all does not work, i.e flash cards, standard repetrion and memorization etc. I have taken a more functional approach to language modeling personally, not so much in a technical sense as my coding skills are still subpar, but the ideas and approaches are grounded in the use of current NLP models and methodologies and how to tailor them to myself. Rather difficult to lay out the approach in a "short" reply as it is multi faceted and may sound disjointed in this format. However, I feel I have found a "new" model, or approach to a model, of learning which is non traditional and works through engaging the individual through their own interests and experiences to tailor the experience in a way that doesn't feel like task engagement or an obvious game model approach. Language is also rooted in mathematics and, in my opinion, can not be disconnected from the model especially regarding type text. I have found that hand written script as well as the type script and font formats also reinforce these aspects, much of this idea is based in pattern recognition and repetition within the context of all language but not in a "conscious" way. Hopefully this reply makes sense. Would love to make the time to show some of the methodology I have approached this with and developed and solidify approaches into a less abstract response, either way good luck!
Yes. UBI could provide a framwork to work side projects that don't succeed monitarily but provide a learning experience for the next project. Collaboration with other UBI creators from multiple diciplines is key, in my opinion for a succesfull project depending on goals and scope. Create self imvestment with exploration and experiencial education. UBI shouldnt necessarily be a paycheck, I find that the security of a private living and working space as well as in incone of food, healthcare etc. Supplimented monitary standards with increases depending on economics and project success.
In terms of hardware a "new" substrate other than silicone will likely be in part a probable solution. The requirements for speed will be density on localization of components and how they communicate. Metal traces are suboptimal compared to a substrate base that could gate itself in relation to I/O. Having ionic neutral properties as well as the ability to take or give a charge functionally and on demand, would be dependant on a functional catalyst and the relational chemical structure of the substrate selected to build physical architecture on.
I've been getting into linguistics lately and noticed the fluency aspect in terms of learned difficulty. I am fluent in two languages which adds a slight askew perspective. I find that fluency in spoken language appears to have a harmonias aspect, perhaps frequency related but also culturally harmonic. In terms of tonal sound, inflection etc. serve as probable reinforcement in terms of learned fluency.
