The trick to making google calendar work is putting literally everything on there, from work to personal tasks, to events, to little notes for later. Tasks works especially well with recurring tasks - for example I have vaccuuming and cleaning the kitchen as a recurring Sunday task
Sure there are examples of egregious shadiness in nonprofits, but an above comment mentioned the Red Cross basically putting 375m/500m of donations toward the programs. Honestly, if they send every dollar received straight the beneficiaries, they would have raised significantly less than 500m. Would it be better for the programs to receive 375m/500m or 25m/25m? Sure we don't know how much they would have raised without all the fundraising, but this issue is more nuanced than people think.
EDIT: I read the Red Cross article from NPR, and it appears that example falls under legitimate questioning of the use of funds. My larger point still applies in general though.
Voter ID laws are simply an attempt to keep poor people and minorities from voting and honestly it's sickening.
If you don't want to be exposed to these things, why not just only consume content that does not have them in the first place?
Though this is only for maybe 3 projects a year so it isn't how I listen to all new music.
Decided to pursue a PhD, which requires about 20x effort but I like coming to the office every day to work. Huge difference for my mental health.
I did well enough in my fall classes (hardest math I've ever taken, skipping multiple pre reqs) to move on and I feel I've found my research interest at least for now. I'm excited every day to work on my research/coding and honestly am 100x happier than I was at my old job even though I'm working about 5x the hours.
I was really worried from the get-go I would not be able to pass the hard classes. But shit, I did it! I feel I can just do so much more.
Sorry for the ramble haha.
Usually the way to work around this is to have a large benefactor that agrees to use their funds for overhead/admin/advertising, and then they can say 100% of your donations goes to programs.
A sort of necessary pain for non profits because a "bad" program ratio costs them donations.
It does give you a starting point, but the Austrian view isn't in the mainstream for a reason. It introduces just a bit too much bias into novice readers for my taste.
If you have to, I suggest getting the best pants you can afford. I wear dress pants that are slim fit but have some stretch to them, making them infinitely more comfortable.
It sucks horribly. I am very into fashion and dressing up and buy nice clothes, but holy shit ties on a daily basis are the worst thing ever. And I don't even get to wear fun formal wear - I am stuck in conservative colors and such.
I am going back to school this Fall and am looking forward to dressing more casually day-to-day.
For the first 7~ or so I was a bad player that progressed slowly.
Maxed my combat, and eventually became a force in the duel arena. Made bils, got bored, left the game.
Nothing hit my beliefs in the face like realizing infinite money in a game like that ruins the experience.
It actually ruined me for video games to be honest. I played LoL for a year or so before getting bored, and spent a small amount of time with CoD on the Xbox, but no other game has ever captured me like RS.
I still follow a few content creators, and get the itch to start a new account once a month or so, but I won't let myself get into a game like that ever again.
Only thing I really want at this point is to be able to filter out for certain keywords, but it's a pro feature. Does a different app offer this for free?
I am counting down the days.
Got a job with Deloitte in consulting.
Now an incoming PhD student.
GPA means nothing if you have an ounce of personal skills.
We know certain things in society have an impact on how overweight people get.
Identifying and fixing those things is worthwhile.
No one is insinuating that we should force people to become fit or anything, as you imply here.
In some cases, certain diseases/medications can cause a very small weight gain but nothing significant.
