Not all, because that would be a bother, but between accounts where I'm a moderator and those where I'm a normal user, I make sure to change my mindset.
On some accounts, I translate everything I write twice for greater anonymity.
That's not the case here because I consider HN to be the equivalent of a single Subreddit, so the information is less diverse. I don't talk about every facet of my life here.
On the other hand, I'm the kind of person who uses a different username on every forum. It's a habit I picked up in the early days of the internet.
This is especially useful in this era where even news organization websites will quote your online username to add to their stories.
What you won't see is people putting flags on their lawns, on their cars, on their clothes or anything like that. The exception is tourist stores, which are full of flags, but you won't see Canadians shopping there.
Beeswax food wraps work surprising well
There is not seal on the Dyson device. It is impossible to "wear it properly" in a way that prevents non-filtered air from getting into your lungs.
There is not seal. It sends a flow of filtered air towards your nostril but that flow mixes with the surrounding air. Anecdotal reviews all talk about how they can smell the surrounding air, meaning that particles get into your nose and then lungs. I saw a review by a doctor discussing about how having a constant flow of air pointed at the nose will dry the nasal mucosa which would offset any advantages from the flow of mixed fileted/non-filtered air.
Now you could argue that having the awareness to do this before an interview is a display of intelligence, however I would say that this is indicative of a type intelligence different to the one needed to be, say, a good engineer.
Do you host yourself or do you use the free version? What scares me is often the cost, especially since there is no way my users will pay the $6 a month and we are not making a profit on this project, so we can't pay for something too expensive.
The idea is often to reuse our existing infrastructure and install a self-hosted chat.
What discourages me every time I want to move forward with this project is that there is never a rough estimate of operating costs when it comes to self-hosted open source chat platforms.
If you could share some pointers, I couldn't thank you enough!
There are two sources of vitamin D: food & supplements and synthesis by the body in the skin on exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun. Since a lot of us spend a lot of time indoor or behind glass (which blocks the necessary wavelengths) it's important to monitor it.
People with darker skin also need more sun exposure to get the required healthy levels. People living in areas where winters are very dark and very long are also at risk of deficiency.
It's ironic that the products we use for beauty reasons can impact us so negatively.
"The man, who is now in his early 70s, told the court that he believes potential clients have backed out of deals because they saw the post, adding that his career, which had previously been marked by success, began to spiral.
Two friends testified they refused to use their influence to help him find jobs because they worried the post would make those efforts fruitless.
His personal relationships also suffered, including those with his two sons, the ruling said.
One son testified that his girlfriend’s parents declined to meet his father because of the defamatory internet posts. The son said that after he experienced high-profile success, people would tell him they searched his name on Google and asked him about the post involving his father."
It was not ordered to pay because the links exists.
It was ordered to pay because they restored links it had previously removed.
"A Quebec Superior Court judge has ordered Google to pay $500,000 to a Montreal man who sued the company after it restored a link to an online post falsely accusing him of being a pedophile."
"Google removed a link to the post from the search results that appeared on its Canadian website. Google would remove links twice more at the man’s request — later that year and in 2011 — after the post resurfaced in its search results. oogle removed a link to the post from the search results that appeared on its Canadian website. The keyboard works in such a way that it learns your typing style and then understands what you type without the requirement for actually hitting the right keys.
I can type "ky nt gromf koe stw uoi" and it will become "hi my friend how are you".
This makes typing on a phone extremely fast.
The problem is that other keyboards that claim to have similar features are not able to understand my typing gibberish.
In essence, I and many other Swiftkey users have trained ourselves to no longer be able to use any other keyboard.
Is this worth being mad over? In my opinion yes, a product loved by many being purchased by a big company who then close down support avenues is always a good reason to be mad.
