I am always fascinated by pen testing and studied computer networking in security to fall into a software engineering job. I just never knew where to start with heading a leg up on the tools and practices to be able to go into pen testing professionally... I couldn't find any apprenticeships or junior roles for it so ended up shelving it as a 'maybe one day' 'dream'. Where would be the best place to start? Most of the books I have are pretty dated now.

Also the article was a great read. Pinning it to go over again on the weekend as my lunch is now over.

I would love to start up my own business, I am extremely hard working and dedicated, even in my every-day 9-5 which I end up doing like 8-6 and working weekends. I enjoy working, as a software dev and at 23 years old I have a fair bit of time ahead of me. My biggest downside is I lack the confidence, I have a bunch of ideas but then I decide, "It won't go anywhere";"I can't do that";"As if people would even bother with this"... I see so many things that could be so much better every day. How do I get past these barriers? Do I just run with an idea and even if it fails, oh well, move on?

This was a surprisingly amazing lunchtime read. Very interesting and nut theft? Never thought something like that would fall into organised crime, this was a real eye opener!

This is just more ammo in the 'Patent system is broken, just abolish it' argument. From my point of view it harms innovation. Sadly there is the valid view that it helps the newer inventor though. The whole Patent system makes me sad.

I would love to get my hands on a VR kit in order to look into AR and UX design, but sadly, I do not have the money to invest in a HTC VIVE or similar.

Unless they explicitly stated any players submit their rights to ownership of the algorithms they write. Even then I feel an open source alternative geared towards research would be better than a for-profit closed source organisation, but they will have their own business needs and ideas they want to stick to.
