JoeDohn··on Cloudflare's AI Psychosis
What the author describes is the standard now at all "too big to fail" companies. These companies works in a way where you need to distinguish yourself or you die (even if you're competent), which tends to empower the extrovert with ego/cheek. The slop potion is only a catalyst for this kinda of culture.

There is still hope, but in some cases we are on the real edge of an industrial catastrophe. And by "real" I mean physical (i.e : trains / cars / factories / banks that could go sideways cause of this BS wave).

JoeDohn··on Scriptc by Vercel: TypeScript-to-Native compiler, no JavaScript engine in binary
Indeed I am a random, but does it make me less qualified than another random ? (look up ^ )
JoeDohn··on Scriptc by Vercel: TypeScript-to-Native compiler, no JavaScript engine in binary
Vercel sloping it's way to clout again, they do this every month or so, clearly they want to stay in the news and some how credible and relevant.

I can't think of any serious company or project that would use this thing.

P.S: I just checked the contributors list, I have the utmost respect to them (notably simonw), but clearly this code is claude'ish but it is not among the contributor which makes it even more suspect.

JoeDohn··on Zero-native – Build native desktop apps with web UI
"native", checks inside "web engines".
JoeDohn··on You gave me a u32. I gave you root. (io_uring ZCRX freelist LPE)
So this is another CVE? Or am I misreading this one? "Copy‑fail", "DirtyFrag", now "IUrinegOnYou :)"?

Joke aside, we'll see more CVEs in the coming months, and in a sense that's good: it leaves less maneuvering room for bad actors (especially those selling them to the highest bidder).

JoeDohn··on The future of code search is not regex – 100x faster than ripgrep
I saw this yesterday it claims it's faster than Ripgrep, it uses regex and rg : https://github.com/erogol/ngi.
JoeDohn··on Discord distances from age verification firm after ties to Peter Thiel surface
They did test the water, they will be back at it again. We have seen this over and over. If you use that bloated software, time to move.
JoeDohn··on Flock CEO calls Deflock a “terrorist organization” (2025) [video]
I'm honestly tired of all these knuckleheads. They've got a few bucks in their bank accounts and pretend that makes them smarter than everyone else. They're just gaming the system, nothing more, and they have every incentive to keep it alive.

He can shove his cameras deep in his ** as far as I'm concerned.

JoeDohn··on Show HN: AI in SolidWorks
as mentioned below you need to go vertically on all CADs and reduce your risk. 3DS is a company that lives in 90s, they will simply turn off your access one day without any consideration. (also they have some shit AI chat thing in the "3d experience platform", so for them you are already a threat).
JoeDohn··on Five Years of Tinygrad
making things less dumb is not a elon's process, if it's the case then we are saying everything that elon is not involved in/with is dumb !
JoeDohn··on Nvidia just paid $20B for a company that missed its revenue target by 75%
Chamath is involved, this is the only thing that you need to known. (it's probably a scamish company that will eventually belly up)
JoeDohn··on Peter Thiel sells off all Nvidia stock, stirring bubble fears
-- Nvidia

++ Microsoft

This sounds a lot like what SoftBank did : sold Nvidia, then invested (will invest?) in OpenAI. I guess the AI market's hit a point where hardware demand is pretty stable, and software demand is where all the juice is now?

JoeDohn··on Ironclad – formally verified, real-time capable, Unix-like OS kernel
"Formally verified" what does that means?

As far as I know formal verification is another testing method and as as such it's is as good as the quality and the extent of the "verification" (aka tests).

Best way to verify that I know of is Fuzzing + testing.

JoeDohn··on Lessons from Growing a Piracy Streaming Site
it's the same thing in western Europe, piracy IPTV is a very popular thing since few years now, you get that through discord servers or really a simple query on aliexpress and you can buy a yearly account for 30$.
JoeDohn··on Grokipedia and the coup against reality
winners write history, and Elon is clearly willing to do whatever it takes to put himself at the forefront, even if it means sacrificing humanity future.

It's a classic case of delusions of grandeur, his story will be told, but not in the way he hopes. We just need to tank few more shit years I guess.

JoeDohn··on rlsw – Raylib software OpenGL renderer in less than 5k LOC
he gonna drop it, since it's a main stream thing now and it did hit hn :D.
JoeDohn··on Chinese staff go rogue after Dutch seize control of chip firm
It happened already few years back with ARM, where executive (ceo ?) went rogue, split and stole bunch of IP.

The question now what the Netherlands gonna do about and it, and in a bigger picture the EU.

I suspect the US when they pushed the Netherlands to do this, the knew it would end up like in this situation, and defacto would make the EU "choose" a side.

JoeDohn··on Learn Turbo Pascal – a video series originally released on VHS
I learned Turbo Pascal in high school (early 2000), once in college I had to learn java yikes.
JoeDohn··on Pirate library operator arrested, study canceled for 330k members
I guess US, but not only. I am eluding to the whole AI thing, instead of using it as a platform to improve human condition and not only profit financially, we do have 'Step mom' and 'Russian girl' bots built on top of 'pirated' content.

We are fucked.

JoeDohn··on Pirate library operator arrested, study canceled for 330k members
So 'pirating' stuff for personal use is bad, but if it's for corp use and benefits than it's good.
JoeDohn··on Show HN: Jobs by Referral: Find jobs in your LinkedIn network
I am not calling for it nor wishing for it, but they will argue the 'data usage bypass' that leads to a loss for them (instead 'clicking'/'viewing' jobs on sh*t linkedin website, users are using JobsByReferral).

But I guess they won't come to you right away, if you get some traction than you bet they will (even if from legal point of view it's not a clear path for a win)

JoeDohn··on RFK Jr.'s health department calls Nature "junk science," cancels subscriptions
the problem that you speak of exist literally everywhere (from public (lowest) to private sector (highest)).

Making fixation on research, academia and science is typical retard behavior. As functioning society (human in general) WE should have ZERO tolerance toward this behavior and RFK Jr kinds should be ignored, he doesn't deserve to be heard, he have ZERO qualification whatsoever (same goes to 90% of this administration).

JoeDohn··on Grammarly acquires Superhuman
not to mention languagetool
