Joboo··on Apple is just Microsoft with better marketing
"[...] and more technical end-users."

What Apple products are we talking about here? Are you implying that people who own mass market consumer electronic devices like iPod and iPhone are more technically inclined? I think that is an inaccurate statement: it is nearly impossible to hold the kind of market share in that space and somehow do it with only (or even mostly) "technical" users... there just aren't enough of them. Not to mention that it flies in the face of Apple's "it just works" marketing mantra.

In the world of PCs, you might have an argument. But I would say, once again, that your assumption goes against everything Apple marketing has been saying for 10 years. If the marketing has been working, then they've been attracting non-technical users into their user-base for years.

In what way?

"The average user would see nothing, but a determined person could see 'raw' line items."

Yes, only someone with the temerity and tenacity to ... click "View Source".

Joboo··on What Is It About Restaurant Websites?
As would I. However, these are restaurateurs we're talking about here. They chop animals and plants with metal implements, cook them over fire and serve them on earthenware. It's not exactly a bleeding-edge-tech industry.

If the worst thing about a restaurant is its website, I'm a happy guy. They'll catch up, but I can't say I blame them for focusing on other things.

I'll never understand the complaint in scenario #2. Use the device in your hand for what it was originally intended, and CALL them.
Joboo··on Why Ad Blocking is devastating to the sites you love
Advertising is about moving product. Just a quick perusal of advertising techniques indicates that just "providing information" is a rarely used methodology. Biased information isn't very useful anyhow.
Joboo··on What If Steve Jobs Hadn’t Returned To Apple In 1997?
I'm not sure why you've been downvoted... the Windows experience has improved immeasurably in the last 3 years (even XP).

There are a lot of systems in place to help small market teams, including "profit sharing" and a compensatory draft system.

One of the differences between MLB and NHL is the number of teams that make the playoffs each year. In hockey you get 16, in baseball there is only 8 across the same number of total teams. I'm sure the commissioner would love to change that, but the season is too long as it is.
