Jim_Neath··on Ask HN: We've just launched our bug tracker, Purify - what do you think?
We're still working on the app home page. I'll try and update the site to reflect the things people have mentioned in this thread.

Alas, marketing and copywriting aren't my strong points.

Jim_Neath··on Ask HN: Good programming language for kids
I taught myself to program when I was twelve by doing PHP. Although I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole these days it's certainly easy to learn.

Having said that I'd probably get her a HTML/CSS book.

Jim_Neath··on Finally, Webdeveloper Toolbar for Chrome
I've not noticed any slow down at all.

Jim_Neath··on Ask HN: Please re-review my new website www.favilous.com
When you're loading in ajax content, it loads very slowly. I clicked the sign-up button and it took about a second to load.
Jim_Neath··on Ask HN: Please re-review my new website www.favilous.com
The bookmark tools slide down animation is incredibly jerky is safari.

Also the front page doesn't tell me enough to get me excited about your product. How does it differ from Reddit/Delicious? What makes it special? Why should I sign up?

Jim_Neath··on Ruby on Rails 3.0 Release Notes
+1 for RVM. Stupidly easy to use.
Jim_Neath··on Ask HN: What's the current state of NoSQL ?
I've been using MongoDB to rewrite the activity feed on one of my apps. I wouldn't use it for everything though (not just yet anyway).

Having said that, the guys behind Harmony (http://get.harmonyapp.com/) use MongoDB for everything, as far as I know: http://railstips.org/blog/archives/2009/12/18/why-i-think-mo...

Jim_Neath··on Ask HN: please review my apps search engine: AppsVu
Looks odd when viewed on a large screen.

I'd personal make it 100% width or at least center it.

+1 for Spreedly. I'm going to be using it along with Paypal Payments Pro UK. Then later down the line I plan to swap out Paypal with someone more reliable, eg. Sagepay.
