J_cst··on Who’s in charge at Amazon? Moves on secretive S Team signal giant’s priorities
'I personally believe that all men and women are created equal' That's just plain false. Every individual is obviuosly unique, just have a look at all the people around you. I consider that just a false storytelling. I agree the everyone have the same dignity* as a human being, but that's another matter and has nothing to do with everyone being equal.

*Sorry I'm not native english speaking, and I'm using the word dignity in the same sense we - in italy - use the word "dignità", but I'm not sure those two words has exactly the same meaning.

J_cst··on Mistakes were made: ERP screwups
I totally agree. Main mistake is customizing the ERP to the company. I also noticed that what usually goes smoothly is the accounting. I believe that the reason for that is that accounting - at least in italy - is a quite standardized process and rarely companies have a special kind of accounting, so there's no need to customize it and screw it up.
J_cst··on Oslo had 0 pedestrian, 0 cyclist, 0 children and 1 driver trafic deaths in 2019
cit. "They're like Italians of the north"

I'd like to stress that Italy is quite diverse throughout and not all us Italians resemble the stereotype. Happy new year.

Also in my experience (mainly business) I experimented that Jewish people are much smarter than the average non Jewish business people I've been dealing with. At best I could get a draw, never a business win. (I don't mean anything bad or implying anything more than what I've written. Please read my comment in a positive way).
J_cst··on Victor Mono – A free programming font
Downaloded, installed and paid for it. Thank you from Italy. ciao
J_cst··on Ask HN: Where do you find products at their early stage?
I've always been unable to like product hunt. I find difficult to navigate it, and to me just looks a never ending unlinked waterfall of products and services. Just an opinion though.

J_cst··on Show HN: Personal Management System
This does not change a substantial wrong-doing
J_cst··on Show HN: Personal Management System
The admin password has been changed and it's not possible to login in now. I feel that this is pure vandalism, especially on an open source demo project.
J_cst··on Multi-millionaire at 27. What I learned (2017)
I think he's referring to the situation where too many choices make it difficult to choose as if there was no choice. Or something along those lines.
J_cst··on I was wrong about spreadsheets (2017)
That's a classic, definitely to be watched!

J_cst··on 'Hell is coming': week-long heatwave begins across Europe
I also feel that also in weather forecast business there's a lot of sensationalism just to get attention shares from the public.
J_cst··on 'Hell is coming': week-long heatwave begins across Europe
In Italy... Where? Milan is totally different from Rome, which is very different from Rimini or Catania. Generalizations are usually misleading.
J_cst··on Capstone, a Tablet for Thinking
Interesting, thanks for sharing. Did this project reach a dead end?
J_cst··on Millionaire hacker gets 9 years in death of man building nuclear bunker tunnels
I was unable to parse it too. I'm Italian (that says it all) my English is not stellar, but usually I find my way around with English. Not this time though. :)
J_cst··on Walmart Grocery is now offering a $98 per year ‘Delivery Unlimited’ subscription
Just yesterday I realized that also in my small city (in Italy, about 100k people on East coast) it's available an online service by which you can order your groceries online on a number of local stores and get it delivered at your home/office on a specific time for 5eur. For 2 of those n local stores you are "guaranteed' to pay the same prices as in store. They also offer a subscription service for 10eur/ month which allows you unlimited deliveries for any purchase whose value is greater than 30eur. The deliveries are taken care by "shoppers". One can become a "shopper" by signing up on their website. No mention of stores fidelity cards on their website. I have not yet tried it, but sounds convenient.
J_cst··on Experts: Spy used AI-generated face to connect with targets
Perhaps using an AI generated face does not constitute Identity theft? ...just wondering
J_cst··on Julian Assange arrested in London
The word "death" has a very well defined meaning and pairing it to America conveys a significance which I find disturbing. Moreover, the fact that you built the frase in such an ambiguous way, led me to think that you did it on purpose. In everybody's interest I politely invite you not to play this game, thank you

Your latest sentence is really sad and in my opinion should be edited and removed.
J_cst··on Ask HN: Tesla electric cars: is the business in the battery?
Isn't that the stiffness is given by the battery pack _enclosure_? This means that in a swappable option you may not need it. (Genuine question).

J_cst··on Ask HN: Tesla electric cars: is the business in the battery?
What about not owning the battery but just paying for its usage? ( Please do not read my reply as aggressive / arrogant as I am genuinely interested in hearing your opinion). Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
J_cst··on Japan Is Betting Big on the Future of Hydrogen Cars
Sorry I'm on my phone and can not edit my comment. That's an example of Elon's position on the matter:

https://youtu.be/yFPnT-DCBVs

J_cst··on Japan Is Betting Big on the Future of Hydrogen Cars
Elon has been very dismissive about hydrogen at least a couple of times saying that hydrogen is not a power source, that is horribly inefficient and fueling cars with it is blatantly stupid. He also added that this will become evident to everyone sometime in the future. I'm not educated enough to understand if his statements are true or he's just defending the battery model because Tesla went for it. I also can not figure out why - if hydrogen is so obviously a fail - such a company as Toyota is betting on it. Is anyone available to elaborate on that in order to help me to better understand Elon's dismissive position on hydrogen as a fueling technology for cars? Genuine question, and thank you to anyone willing to ELI 5.
J_cst··on Show HN: A retro video game console I've been working on in my free time
I would like to express my deep admiration and esteem for you. The tenacity, competence and intelligence that your project demonstrates is what this planet needs. You are a great hacker and you have all my admiration.
J_cst··on Tesla has a self-driving strategy other companies abandoned years ago
Unfortunately people buy on promises, marketing guys know that, and Elon - among other things - is a marketing person. The promise of 'self driving' was too appealing to be left unspent.

Ethically discussable, but that's how things seems to work.

J_cst··on New ‘past’ link on HN front page
I feel that the top navigation "more" link could be renamed into "popular by date" or "yesterday's popular". Those labels appear more accurate to me and better convey the functionality of the current top "more" link. Moreover having two links with the same name on the same page which behave differently seems misleading.
