This plus never doing a stock split despite BRK.A trading at $468,000 per share are little details that show what an extraordinary and unique company it is. I don't think there's anyone in finance who cares about appearances less than Warren Buffet. The fact that he chooses to stay in Omaha, Nebraska instead of a penthouse in Manhattan's Financial District also seems to tie in to his modus operandi.

I'd be curious to know how many people access the Berkshire Hathaway website from a phone. If they do get any mobile traffic, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it's from more BlackBerries than iPhones.

The email goes to the same person you must ask before describing an NFL broadcast.

This web design reminds me a lot of when Apple "bravely" removed the 3.5mm AUX jack from the iPhone. Everyone scorned and mocked their simplified design, then copied it a year later. However, I don't know if there's anything equivalent to forcing companies to make better Bluetooth headsets in this case - maybe making people appreciate big fonts more?

Normally I loathe Geico ads with every fiber of my being, but that little guy at the bottom of the page is so cute!

One could argue that there's a huge difference between the two: dangerousness. Making at-home body-altering substances to be consumed is obviously physically dangerous. It's much harder to argue that what KF does is physically dangerous.

This isn't quite accurate. While they do disproportionately make threads about people who are trans, they have plenty of threads about cis people as well. It's not like they target random transgender people. If anything, the "crime" would be being Internet-famous.
JYellensFuckboy··on Kiwifarms Dropped by Their ISP
For one, KF constantly faces DDoS attacks.

This is correct. The vast majority of KiwiFarm's content (aside from vulgar replies) is the obsessive compilation of public posts, e.g. screenshots of deleted tweets. It's protected because the right to be forgotten isn't recognized in American law.

The "suicide count" in question was in one user's mini-bio (the bit below someone's profile pic where they can put custom text - not sure what that's called). Keffals' claim that it's a site "feature" is deceitful and that multiple users had it is an outright falsehood.
JYellensFuckboy··on Kiwi Farms has been removed from the Internet Archive
> It's easily verifiable that bank details were shared on KF.

How? The site is down and now the archives are too. This strikes me as a bizarre lie.

I find myself growing more weary and concerned about Wikipedia's bureaucracy and politics. I'm not sure if I'm merely losing my naivete or the Wikimedia Foundation's integrity is in fact decaying.

That's like saying pushing an object implies that it has a right to stand still. Censorship is simply when something is suppressed or prohibited. Whether or not you think the censorship is merited is a matter of opinion, not inherit to the word's definition.

Beautiful eulogy. I'm sorry for your loss.

Anecdotally, I've noticed an uptick in biased Wikipedia editing platforming questionable claims as facts. It's a bit concerning.

This evoked Godwin's law real quick. For a purportedly "Nazi" site, KiwiFarms sure does lack swastikas.

Moral repugnance is not synonymous with Nazism.

Have KF users ever taken credit for SWATing? It's my impression that they were - or at least Moon - always careful about not crossing the legal line.

Am I missing something? The linked source contradicts that comment. The source only links one post by one user - a horrible attempt at a joke by my reading - and it was removed.

Is there more?

Cloudfare's stance is pretty clearly amoral.

Is this in fact the case? Of course it is being claimed, but I always perceived that KF's nastiness was relatively self-contained, e.g. when someone encourages suicide, it's performative to other Farmers, rather than reaching out to a potential victim or their loved ones. All bark, no bite, and caged.

This is a great point. Regardless of how one may feel about hate speech laws, it is disturbing that a large percentage of citizens believe that Washington D.C. is completely impotent. People have given up on the idea of their government helping, to the point where it's not even brought up as a possibility.
JYellensFuckboy··on FTC explores rules cracking down on commercial surveillance and lax security
Official announcement on @FTC on Twitter: https://twitter.com/FTC/status/1557733026947543042

FTC Chair Lina Khan [further breaks it down](https://twitter.com/linakhanFTC/status/1557738539202531334):

>1. Firms track & collect data on Americans at a stunning scale—on our location, our health, what we read online, who we know, what we buy.

>@FTC is seeking comment on whether to issue rules aimed at commercial surveillance & lax data security practices.

Senator Markey (MA) has also [responded positively to it](https://twitter.com/SenMarkey/status/1557738870397353984):

>We have reached a crisis point for children and teens’ well-being online. I'm glad to see @linakhanFTC and @FTC working to give users the privacy protection they deserve. Congress must also pass my legislation to further protect young people online. We must act now.

JYellensFuckboy··on Twitter Deal Temporarily on Hold
Is this legal? It seems like such a devious exploit.

1. Announce buyout (priced at a premium, of course) is "on hold"

2. Stock drops due to bad news

3. Re-negotiate for lower buyout after manipulating the stock to a lower price

This is ultimately about telling a diverse group of people that the essence of their human experience is wrong, that their sense of identity and thought patterns are invalid, that they must fundamentally change to conform to the linguistic perception of reality of English speakers - the vast majority of whom neither understand nor respect other languages. See the hypocrisy here?

"Latino" is a gender-neutral word. Gendered languages do not involve all of what "gender" per se means in the English sense. English speakers not understanding or accepting these basic facts is not reflective of the Spanish language; it is reflective of the lack of understanding and acceptance of some English speakers.

And misunderstandings are fine, as is the case with Joe Biden and the Democrats who said something which offends 40% of Latino Americans. But preaching from the pulpit of ignorance is not.

JYellensFuckboy··on Twitter accounts dropping “.eth” from usernames
I pray that someday everybody can see how horribly arrogant and culturally imperialist it is for English-speakers to condemn other languages as "problematic" and demand they fundamentally change based on their limited outsider understanding. It's one of those few things which screams woke white supremacy.
JYellensFuckboy··on Twitter accounts dropping “.eth” from usernames
The fad in question doesn't concern how closely people identify with their gender in real, normal life. It concerns their aptitude to announce their gender prior to any online interaction whatsoever.
JYellensFuckboy··on Twitter accounts dropping “.eth” from usernames
The USA is not the epicenter of the Spanish language. The world does not revolve around the USA.

This seems like the ultimate manifestation of old adage "there are no girls on the internet." I suspect that females (especially those not in the tech industry) tend to overwhelmingly hold accounts in their real name, whereas the vast majority of pseudonymous posters are men. It makes a lot of sense from a social conditioning perspective of communication: that females tend to be more relationship-focused whereas males tend to be more object-focused.

As a result, for girls, getting misgendered under a pseudonymous account is seen as danger that comes with the territory. And of course they take it in stride, because that's just what women do all the time.
