What a stupid question.
And yes ORMs and other tools used in software industry often look over engineered if one doesn't want to understand in depth the problems they are solving, but wants to quickly solve a business problem.
Take for example ORMs - people already know SQL and are often too lazy or un-motivated to learn their ORM of choice in depth. So for them the ORM is confusing and SQl just works. But an ORM eliminates a ton of code that needs to be written and maintained. Boilerplate code to read a row from DB than map it to an object or a map. Boilerplate code to do DB inserts and updates. Optionally boileplate code to track changes. Any decent ORM allows one to bypass it's mechanisms and in the edge cases write SQL directly.
It's essentially the same argument people used countless times in the past - e.g. why learn a higher level language, if they never work and I can do anything in C.
I live in UK, would it be able to work out how much tax I need to pay on crypto gains?
For a long time Shouigu was a minister of emergencies and had very good PR strategy - there were always TV crews following his every move, that were paid from his ministry budget.
Things are really happening in Russia. There are armoured army vehicles deployed to the center of Moscow. There were emergency news on Russia's 1st Channel at 1:30am. This looks like the biggest crysis in Russia this century. Ukraine army may be able to mount a massive attack in Bakhmut, after Wagner's forces left the front. To deal with the heavily armed and well trained Prigozhin forces, Russia will have to remove more forces from Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Operational Command South has confirmed that an explosion on Tuesday morning destroyed the Nova Kakhovka dam, which guards the Kherson region’s coastal cities against a reservoir with water levels currently at a 30-year high. In a statement on Facebook, the Ukrainian military accused Russian occupation forces of blowing up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. The loss of the dam is expected to unleash flood waters downstream and exacerbate Ukraine’s energy shortages after months of Russian missile strikes targeting power generation and grid facilities across the country.
Crypto solves (to a degree) the problem of a huge amoount of power belonging to the few people who run the financial system. Huge consentration of power is not a good thing. Power corrupts and so on. Crypto puts everyone on equal footing - rather than say the people/companies who have a banking license enjoying an unfair advantage over everyone else (like the power to create money from thin air in the fractional reserve system).
The credit card companies, PayPal and the like get to decide which companies are worthy to exist and which not. If they don't like a business, they can just cut them off from receiving money. E.g. VPN provides who don't keep logs are all banned from receiving credit/debit card payment, PayPal, etc. - they have to resort to receiving cash by post and crypto.
Famous last words...
I'm a software developer (C#, Java, TypeScript, Python) looking to transfer to AI/ML work. Do you think any of the data positions would be a good fit?
Not really. E.g. can download mp3 music and mp4 movies on my own HD and so far Microsoft Defender hasn't deleted them.
Any source on that? It would need to go from 20K to 50K.
Curious about that - do the founders of big indian IT companies, like Infosys or Zoho, belong to a specific cast?
The Indian numeric system (often called Arabic in Europe) and the consept of zero (invented in India) enabled both the science revolution and the establishment of modern banks and corporations first in Italy and then in the rest of Europe.
