There were a lot of varieties of those. Some were better.

But only as long as it's not a freakin' PWM. I have this problem on my laptop and TV and anything lower than 100% hurts as hell. (

FINALLY! Someone remembers! There even was a monitor remote control panel in NVIDIA Display CP in Windows 98 or 2000. It was awesome!
IYasha··on I face investigation for terrorism
Unfortunately, I don't have such option.
IYasha··on I2P: End-to-end encrypted and anonymous internet
I too would love a one button solution. And also a server-only node.
IYasha··on I2P: End-to-end encrypted and anonymous internet
Where do you get them? Is there some kind of catalog? (don't answer if it's not supposed to be in normal internet)
IYasha··on I2P: End-to-end encrypted and anonymous internet
But isn't it enough to use it just for metadata and not the pyload itself? (provided that's possible)
IYasha··on Show HN: WebSession, a Secure Replacement for Cookies
It would probably be okay as long as I can view, edit and manage them in every way I like.

While I'm overall feeling very sorry for the author, I can't help but note the color of the article text which I'm really struggling to see. My vision is not the best, and my display is just terrible, but I don't think it's so bad for just me. So if, after this terrible problem is hopefully resolved, I would humbly suggest fixing this issue.
IYasha··on Grayjay – Follow Creators Not Platforms
The idea behind this whole enterprise is great. And, generally speaking, this is what software and service developers should do: sell products, not people.
IYasha··on Grayjay – Follow Creators Not Platforms
So, I'm out of luck with by Android 5 and 8? :((((((
IYasha··on Open source app to watch videos from any platform
I was literally waiting for this to pop up on HN :) Congratulations to developers and all freedom-respecting people around the world! I'm checking it out now.
IYasha··on Ditch That Else
Sometimes someone HAS to take the role of Captain Obvious and write articles like this :)
IYasha··on Show HN: Karektar – Bitmap Font Designer
This is literally their entire site. I am so depressed right now.

edit: I'd rather look for similar offline tool, written in C and working not just in latest browsers.

IYasha··on Car showed pop-up while driving
At least there's one positive thing: they've got "Yes" on the left. :)
IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
Nooooooo, hands off np++! X'( They'll make it worse the next day, bloating it to hell!
IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
but it's .NET, it never does start as fast as native paint.
IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
kudos for KolourPaint, it replaced mspaint for me perfectly too! Set it to Ctrl+Alt+P :)
IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
I had mspaint on Ctrl+Alt+P since Windows 95 for that reason :)

IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
yeah, the tool selection (and options) is just terrible! UI logic is very weird.
IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
what ages exactly? (I don't use windows now but need to know)
IYasha··on Paint on Windows is getting layers and transparency support
Last time I used paint in Windows 7 and, boy, was it crippled beyond recognition! Palette management - terrible, tool switching - horrendous, working with 8-bit images - plain impossible (it ruins BMP palette no matter what you do)! The only remaining use for mspaint for me was occasional math/dev schematic sketch. Shame on you, M$!

(no, I didn't move to paint.net. LodePaint, Wally and pure old PS (before CS))

IYasha··on Mwmbl: Free, open-source and non-profit search engine

IYasha··on Forty years of GNU and the free software movement
Free as in "Freedom". Big shoutout to everyone working in FSF! You make the computing world a byte less terrible :)
IYasha··on UK Parliament passes Online Safety Bill
Welcome to the goolag, comrades. As sad as it sounds. This stuff is emerging in <s>WEF</s>different countries almost simultaneously. Do you see the pattern here? I do. Freakin prison under disguise of safety.
IYasha··on Google is already pushing WEI into Chromium
Is it possible for web server software developers to oppose this? I mean, if Apache and Nginx join in protest and refuse to suport it, Goolag will lose!
IYasha··on Tell HN: Locked Google account reopened after two years
Unbelievable! As a gmail victim myself I'm very happy for you.

I don't know if that's an unfortunate coincidence, but I seem to have been banned from google the same day. :) I didn't know you can actually be banned from google! (and I haven't even been there for a month or two)
