I received an over 40 MOT (a few years back) and despite being overweight and slightly above cholesterol was told I was low risk - it seems to be if you don't smoke or drink you're in the clear. Similarly, I just did the Framingham test and got a 2.2 % 10-year risk of MI or death for this patient, which is nice.
However, it all seems so hit and miss. You'd think there should be a way to screen on a regular (yearly) basis to detect for risk factors.
Mr Left Hand, may I introduce you to Mr Right Hand.
It would be fascinating to see a study into where this money ended up. As you say, it should have found its way into the economy and in turn the pockets of large companies/the Government which could use it for capital investment, but in reality the country is crumbling.
While I do get ads and suggested pages, these don't seem intrusive with the above approach. Maybe its just me?!?!
"We are so socially responsible, we're banned in Texas"
This means I will always go for the ad with a salary and the company will have to pay the recruiter their finder's fee.
It's the old "nobody ever get fired for buying IBM". It is easy to justify this kind of outsourcing decision, these are multi-billion dollar companies and they must be that successful for a reason. Right? Whereas if you do something in house and it goes titsup, then the first question will be "why didn't you get an experienced consultancy to do it?"
So my question is how do we influence senior management away from the mentality of employing consultants as they default decision and instead look at all the options fairly.
