Can you give any more detail about how this works? At what age did you start doing it, what's in the boxes, and how did you introduce the idea to your kids?
A cold deck is one that has been rigged to the advantage of one player, and then swapped in after the cut and shuffle (hence its "coldness"). Typically the deck would be stacked to give the victim a fantastically good hand, but the cheater one that's slightly better. The victim would bet a great deal thinking their hand was good only to lose at the end.
Players now use the term to describe the rare occasions when someone loses with a particularly strong hand in a fair game.
Part of the reason to go to the walkout was to find out what to do. People didn't just stand there doing nothing. They listened to women speak about their experiences and ask for specific, concrete actions from attendees that would lead to less sexual harassment, bias, and associated garbage.
Not to be an ass, but many horrible people are skilled at manipulating an audience and crafting a particular persona. This man couldn't have defrauded his investors without a great degree of charisma and the ability to appear trustworthy and likable.
Re: plugins, I hadn't noticed until just now that the instructions for the plugins repo say to file issues under the main one. There are plenty there, though. A search for "Firebase," though:
https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=f...
turns up ~350 issues.
I can't speak for the team, but solid support for platform APIs is going to go a long way toward adoption, so I can't imagine it's being overlooked.
For Visual Studio Code support, the community has produced an extension: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Dart-Cod...
Regarding packages, they're a combined effort between the Flutter team and external contributors. There are a bunch in https://github.com/flutter/plugins, for example, with commits from both inside and outside Google.
Tons of real world examples: https://github.com/flutter/plugins
- Flutter renders the UI itself rather than using native components, so you get the same experience on both iOS and Android.
- Flutter uses Dart, which can be compiled AOT, rather than relying on an interpreter.
- Flutter is completely open source, tools, engine, all of it. You can go a long way down before hitting iOS platform code, for example, that you don't have source access for.
There others, but those are the biggies for me.
Hackernoon's got a recent article covering this exact topic:
The fact that the judiciary has the power to stop them does not make what they did any more or less acceptable. Gerrymandering the state specifically to subvert the will of the voting population is crass disregard for the democratic process.
No. If a foreign power attempted to influence one of my country's elections for its own gain, I am outraged. The amount of effort or money spent is quite immaterial to me.
Can you elaborate on this?
He then walked us a block away to a place he recommended, which had exactly two open seats and very good sushi. It also offered us the guilty pleasure of being the only white people in the place. :)
Have these people never heard of a MUD?
No. Just no. While American college campuses tend to skew left, they are not fortresses of liberalism where everyone duckspeaks about Bernie Sanders. They all have conservative professors, Young Republicans clubs, and so on.
Hell, part of my large, public university tuition money went to pay a 50k speaking fee to Alberto Gonzales, ffs.
