Waco could have easily happened 150 years prior and had a similar outcome; fundamentally a small group cannot resist the power of the state in a head-to-head confrontation. It's only a popular uprising that can put real pressure on the power of the state. If a group of people in one place resort to violence, the state can crush them, but as with terrorism, you cannot wage war against an idea, unless the idea is held only by completely powerless people.
To answer your question, no.
I read that people having an identical issue had better results with shorter cables. I don't know any of the details but the shorter cable had a huge effect.
Pushing the price "down" to 224 from 220 is very confusing and caused me to have to read your post several times to make sure I understood correctly.
In the case of the M1 and the SKS, the magazine, eg the device that holds the ammunition inside the gun, is the restricted item. The only difference is the magazine is not removed in the field, like with most other guns where that's how you reload.
It could be a component that is used by other 4k monitors, but it really seems specific to this Seiki (in varying sizes), as they have released a firmware update that is supposed to help.
It's interesting to me that the blanking events are grouped together and mostly in the beginning. My best guess is that the monitor adjusts some timings and eventually gets it right, and whenever it's turned off it has to figure out the timings all over again. But I don't really know what I'm talking about...
The lag due to 30hZ is a big drawback, my mousing accuracy is noticeably lower, but I can live with that.
What I cannot live with is the fact that the monitor goes blank and then re-detects the HDMI signal all the time -- perhaps 25 times in the first few minutes and then once every 5-15 minutes afterwards. I'm using the HDMI port on my Intel Haswell board and have updated drivers and the Seiki firmware, and still get this issue. Seiki support is bad, and lots of people have this issue. They specifically released a firmware update that is supposed to resolve this but it doesn't help me. Perhaps another brand of graphics card would help but currently it's broken.
If PG and a few others joined with him, there would be momentum, just like that.
The government said, "you must update your software to compromise your encryption, and deliver us this information we have a warrant for." Lavabit said, "well, no, that defeats the purpose of our business". The gov't said "we don't care, we have a valid warrant" and now Lavabit is out of business.
If I'm right, nobody's files were compromised because Lavabit refused, but I imagine that doesn't bode well for returning user data because there could be huge legal consequences if one of the confirmed users is strongly suspected of XYZ.
If I'm right, it shouldn't prevent the owner from starting a new secure email service outside of the US. I suggest Iceland.
