Griceraae50100··on Gorilla Glass-maker plans to produce glass suitable for folding iPhones
Do not try and bend the glass. That's impossible. Instead, only realize the truth... there is no glass. Then you will see that it not the glass that bends, it is yourself.
Griceraae50100··on Unlocked hut in a caravan park with no guards is all that protects internet
One wonders if the Daily Mail reveals these secrets so that someone attempts to sabotage them and they can get a story out. Mind you it would be a poorly written article as usual.
Griceraae50100··on Handbrewing Coffee
I understand this guy. Five years ago, I calmly could drink americano in a terrible coffee shop. Now I can not imagine my day without aeropress or chemex. My favorite grains are from Kenya and Congo, because sourness is felt in them. If you really love coffee, then you will like the hand-brew.
Griceraae50100··on Serious Chrome zero-day
Note that you can also upgrade Google Chrome by going to he 3 vertical dots menu, Help -> About Google Chrome. I reckon that’s a little less scary for inexperienced users than typing in an arcane URL into the address bar…
Griceraae50100··on Finnish breaks natural language processors
Really interesting! I was wondering a few months ago how autocompletion on phones works for agglutinating languages like Finnish, but I didn't have a Finn to ask =/ If you wouldn't mind enlightening me, does it even exist for Finnish? If so, how does it work?
Griceraae50100··on California's San Bernardino County restricts construction of solar, wind farms
Lucerne dry lake isn’t right now. Isn’t Sen Feinstein D-CA financially involved in desert solar projects?
Griceraae50100··on Facial Recognition for Pigs – China’s Tech Firms Are Mapping Pig Faces
Most smaller producers already recognize their livestock as well as family resemblance. If African swine fever does in fact produce a fever, wouldn't that be a better screening method? Like in an airport. Pigs are highly intelligent, and "tech" enabling them to increase or decrease barn temperature (up and down snout-pressed buttons) has shown to save money on heating bills.
Griceraae50100··on Full-stack developers are in fact stuck at mid-level. Don’t go down that path
Personally, I'd prefer to have a broader albeit less competitive set of knowledges as a full stack (this should be defined, though) developer. I do not see it as a flaw.

Back to my backend days I was on the brink of the burnout but switching to frontend gave me breath of fresh air. When I found a modern frontend as a total mess I started to dig into devops and it surely improved my competencies as a backend either.
