So yes, while IE9 is technically slower than chrome, it does good stuff with code analysis which chrome should too. Impressive by the way. :)
In the end the benchmark should be augmented to force the function to run.
Does most number of bugs reported mean anything? No. I can NOT report the bugs because I don't have the IE source code. I can report 2 bugs a year, and never have them resolved, so I'm secure I guess, yet I'm actually worse off. How fast from report to release does a bug take on average to be fixed? How much of chrome's reported vulnerabilities reside inside the sandbox vs leaking outside the sandbox (this is a big one, if the answer is none then chrome is still insanely secure)? What about the fact that many security problems in chrome likely are problems in Safari except without the niceties of the sandbox?
This is all crap.
There is something inherently wrong with CSS tables for layout. There are also technological hurdles.
When using RAW CSS WITH NO FRAMEWORK laying shit out is hard at best. Which is why you should use one of a multitude of frameworks which give you css grid layouts. There are also frameworks which apply css 2 table cell properties to layout your page using tables without tables.
When using HTML Tables, you are guaranteeing that your site will NEVER scale gracefully with lower resolutions and mobile devices without CSS (dying). While sometimes you do want to say "Vertical" or "Horrizontal" box, on some devices neither helps. You need wrapping, text area resizing (and i dont mean textarea tags) etc.
So in the end of the day: Don't do Table-based layouts. BUT ALSO DON'T REINVENT THE WHEEL. I think it is an equal sin to hack up a new layout css for every page/project as it is to hack up a new webserver for every little 2-page static html server.
From a technological perspective, tables don't make for good layout containers. They don't respect their width/height properties like you hope they would. You need to account for the dreaded cellpadding and cellspacing defaults, child borders/margins, etc. Avoid it. Trust me, a bigger headache in the long run.
Much much much more wiery when people give out their email password to any other service period. Plus why would you care if you can't get the info out of facebook? You already have it in gmail. I dunno, I feel like I dodged so many bullets by not using facebook.
The charts are showing only the tests IE9 excel at, which is a fraction of the picture.
The tests also compare IE9 vs current stable releases. I want to see that comparison against beta releases.
Oh wait lets also write down what operating systems IE9 is compatible with:
Google Chrome: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX, Linux
Firefox: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX, *nix
Opera: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX, Linux
IE9: Windows Vista, Windows 7
Oh look IE9 runs on only the latest MS operating system. They don't even support their own older OSes.
Lets not even get into the security aspects.
1 job I had, the company could not realize that monitors are important for developers.
The next job all managers from every department pointed fingers at other managers until the entire company went bankrupt. They had the best product on the market and the only reason why it would not sell insanely would have to be due to the sales team. They instead did not dogfood and paid a heavy price, when they tried to dogfood they realized too late that everyone is incompetent.
And now I have a very high-up manager shooting himself in the foot with a shotgun.
In the end, social skills are like math, they are not spectator sports.
I am still an introvert, but I tend to be social, and enjoy being around other people. Often I like to be left alone, but now it is by choice. The line REALLY blurred within the last 3-5 years or so. The main point to take away is: Is being an introvert making you unhappy? Change it. Otherwise be what you are and be proud of it.
If, however, the customer walked in and said "please let me see your department of health inspection information," it would be a completely different issue, as that directly relates to the business.
Vaccinations are important. End of story.
In any case, I still love gmail, everything else has been crap.
Also try replacing google EVERYWHERE on an android device, quite well embedded and hard to change in 100 places and still browsers use google as the search engine.
See when it comes to Facebook/twitter only what I WANT to become public, is public. I mean I only post on facebook/twitter what I want the world to see. Lets assume everything is public. While with google I am betting they can know where I live without any sort of geolocation gps or any other technology, because they will know what I search for, where I go (directions on google maps), when I go where I go, where I work, etc. I am betting they can recite my life better than I remember it.
That I have a problem with. And pretty much everything I do online feeds google. And this applies to many online companies, google just does it better.
The days of "lets not be evil, lets be awesome" are easily replaced by "lets make money!"
1) The Mosque is of anti-american Muslims. That should be stopped.
2) The more likely scenario is that these are just Muslims wanting to build a Mosque in their neighborhood.
3) Maybe (2) but to show that Muslims care for the victims just as anyone do.
For (1) I say take the same action as you would with a confederate flag in a black neighborhood. If the people beat the shit out of them, great.
For (2) it should be allowed, period. It is their constitutional right to practice their religion and it is bigotry to blame all Muslims for the actions of the few.
For (3) more power to them, hope they succeed.
Edit: Since it seems to be point (1) then we should stop it. I don't feel property rights ever play into the argument though. The only argument I have is, if it is their property, they should have the right to build a religious establishment for the purposes of the community. If that is not the goal, they should be denied the right to build there.
