Goz3rr··on Using FujiFilm SDK on a Camera Voids Its Warranty
I have no idea what the exact hardware inside of the camera is, but almost every microcontroller has something like eFuses or one time programmable memory in this day and age. Not a lot of expensive engineering required, just a few hours of software development for the camera firmware and SDK developers. It'll be good enough for most warranty cases you can now hand wave away.
Goz3rr··on China Eastern flight MU5735 crashes, 132 people were on board
They wouldn't be. As the plane descends and the pressure increases the oxygen levels increase as well.

Based on what? As horrific as it might be it wouldn't surprise me if passengers were conscious all the way down. Even if oxygen masks didn't deploy or work, at 26,000 feet you have a few minutes of useful consciousness after rapid decompression [1]. Combined with the fact that the plane would be rapidly descending.

Goz3rr··on Thousands of Mazdas in the Seattle area are stuck on a single FM radio station
You should also keep in mind that the string is essentially user input at runtime for the radio, so the compiler can't throw warnings or errors for it even if it wanted to.
Goz3rr··on Someone attached an AirTag to my car while I was in a bar
Where I live (NL) you don't even need to buy a whole phone, anonymous prepaid sim cards don't require any ID to purchase.
Goz3rr··on Someone attached an AirTag to my car while I was in a bar
How so? You can get GPS trackers for less than an airtag
Goz3rr··on We check our node_modules folder into source control
Git is good at storing text diffs, any binary file in your node_modules (images, natives etc) are permanently stored in your repo, including old versions or deleted files. I've seen times where this had meaningful impact on both disk use and the speed of Git itself
Goz3rr··on LEDs Puzzle
> but this would require 12 I/O lines, and the small 14-pin processors only provide 11.

Actually the 14 pin chips provide 12 GPIO lines, it just requires you to set a fuse which will disable the reset function to get the 12th one.

If you then need to change the programming once more after setting that fuse, you'll need what is known as a "high voltage programmer" (high voltage being 12V instead of 5V) to regain access to the reset pin.

Goz3rr··on Miniature 3456 LED Cube
Ah, it didn't really come off as dismissive I just wanted to provide some insight as to what the raw pricing of something like this would be.

Ironically enough I didn't want to come off as dismissive either

Goz3rr··on Miniature 3456 LED Cube
$60 is enough to get you just the 3456 LEDs (They're €0.0152 each at qty 2000+). Another $30 for the 36 driver chips. You're probably looking at around $150 in parts alone.

FWIW .NET Core 2.1 and 3.1 are LTS versions, support for 2.1 ended last month and for 3.1 in December 2022. .NET 4 is not relevant in this context because of versioning changes over the years and can be ignored. .NET 6 will be the next LTS version, to be released later this year.
Goz3rr··on Congratulations, Mini, you made the stupidest turn signals ever
Besides the fact that they're blinking lights so only on 50% of the time by design, consider the fact that regulations specify the minimum luminous output which these cars obviously pass. Add to that the fact that you're using modern high power LED lights and that the human eye perceives light in a logarithmic manner, it wouldn't surprise me if these indicators will be more noticeable on their "minimum" output than their old incandescent bulb counterparts.

Goz3rr··on Google is testing its new ad targeting tech in millions of browsers
I've recently been getting google ads for customized tshirts that either have my first or last name _on the shirt in the actual ad_ [1]

I absolutely hate it and can't find anything about it online, other than 2-3 people on twitter complaining about it as well. No idea how they're even doing this or how I can disable it.

Most i9 9900 chips will happily run DDR4-4266 as well. The reason Intel only lists DDR4-2666 has to do with JEDEC standards and overclocking reasons.

Also note frequency is only part of the whole picture. CAS latency is important as well, which is much higher with Apple.
