Gisbitus··on Shaders, WebGPU Components for React, Vue, Svelte, Solid, JavaScript and Framer
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the entire toolbox is open source, whereas some presets and pre-made components are still behind the paywall.

So, in theory, nothing is stopping you from recreating them from scratch.

Reading their landing page, the product was only recently open-sourced, so I believe that explains the mismatch.
Gisbitus··on We write code by hand
Hard agree on this. I feel like it's pretty normal, but I struggle with retaining information by just reading. I really need the manual typing step to cement the knowledge.
Gisbitus··on OpenShot 4.0 – Open-source video editor
Their homepage features a download button, with all the platforms listed, as the first thing when you open it.
Gisbitus··on LoRA Speedrun – a public wall-clock leaderboard for fine-tuning techniques
I understand the feedback in the second paragraph, however I do not understand why we're judging projects by whether they've been AI generated or not.

Have we stopped treating software as a black box? This behavior will only lead to devs moving away from OSS to avoid the AI stigma.

Gisbitus··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (July 2026)
Since I use multiple browsers and devices, I've been struggling with keeping up the articles I want to read. I have them scattered all around and usually forget which ones I've read, entirely or partially.

For the last couple of weeks, I've been building readmepls (https://readmepls.com) to organize my library, and on top I've been trying to build a good reading experience.

Gisbitus··on Bumble Berry Pi – A Cheap DIY Raspberry Pi Handheld Cyberdeck
I don't know if you're based in the US, but here in Europe I used Xometry and, while expensive for what you're getting, it was pretty reasonable.

I built a cyberdeck bigger than this and the case came out to be around 30 euros.

Absolutely hilarious name
Gisbitus··on My first attempt at iOS app development
This post was a wake up call. Last year I spent a week learning Swift the "old fashioned way" following Apple's tutorials, with not much to show for it when I was done. Even though I use AI for coding daily, since XCode doesn't natively support it, I just decided to not use it.

Seeing how far you went in just a couple of days, I realize now how much I missed out.

Congrats on the app!

Gisbitus··on SAM 2: Segment Anything in Images and Videos
It's OSS, so there isn't an "official" hosted version, but someone probably is gonna offer it soon.
Gisbitus··on “Emergent” abilities in LLMs actually develop gradually and predictably – study
Just like it's mentioned later in the article: it doesn't really matter if you get an addition mostly right. You either get it right or you don't. I still appreciate their effort though, because even after altering the grading system, there were still some emergent abilities.
Gisbitus··on Blender 16yo winner of UK young animator of the year
Insane work, congrats to him. The dessert in the video (Mitarashi Dango) also happens to be my favorite lol.
Gisbitus··on Show HN: I built my first Cyberdeck
Nope, just simply overlooked it. I’ll upload smaller versions, sorry!
Gisbitus··on Show HN: I built my first Cyberdeck
I totally see where you’re coming from, and yes, the first few days on it were nightmarish, but I eventually got good on it. I code as fast as I do on my 65%, and not having to ever move your hands away from the main position is actually super comfortable! Chords and tap dancing definitely require a lot of muscle memory, but they are game changers.
Gisbitus··on Show HN: I built my first Cyberdeck
Sorry, will do. Thanks for the heads up!
Gisbitus··on Show HN: I built my first Cyberdeck
thank you!

Didn't know they existed, they look great! I'll consider them for the next one, which is probably gonna be beefier.
