Because he can tow 300 miles easily with a ICE vehicle, and he can fill up anywhere in 5 minutes or less. Once you can charge cars in 5 minutes or less, I doubt he’d have made that a requirement.
This is fantastic news. They're burning through too much cash too fast. They're going to have to sooner or later charge more money at which point businesses will balk at the price and the AI hype cycle will come to an end. I can't wait.
I have found that regardless of whether I’m nice & patient or I’m swearing at it every other sentence, it fundamentally makes no difference in the quality of the LLMs output. LLMs are not humans, puppies…we’re fundamentally just dealing with a large, complex statistical predictive function.
Odds are, you'll never experience the self-discharging issue. Having said that, I don't find a mostly-reliable firearm acceptable from a safety perspective. If I don't pull the trigger, it cannot go bang, ever, for any reason.
I don’t really give a shit whether you think I’m sincere or not. Lots of people are in shitty situations of their own doing, or not of their own doing - I can emphasize with them and still prefer not to prioritize tax dollars on their situation over others that benefits society more in my opinion.
On one hand I empathize, on the other hand - she made the poor choices that wound up getting herself incarcerated. There are long-lasting consequences to their actions. When society has to choose between spending a dollar on re-entry or spending it on other more (perceived) worthwhile causes - we know how that goes. Before you all get mad at me for saying that, we don't live in a fantasy world with infinite resources that can do X and also do Y.
> My favorite example of this is the thoroughly craven New York Times which puts content behind a paywall and loads it with awful ads aimed at people who’ve proven they are made of money.
It's almost as if you don't remember the good old days when the NY Times sold you a physical newspaper...that was (and still is) stuffed with ads.
When we model systems and data models, we model them for the problem we're solving today, and with enough experience you can anticipate some future problems...but not all. Business is dynamic and software data models are relatively rigid. That's why business users love Excel - it's the javascript of the database world...you can slap something together without too much fuss and 60% of the time it'll work every time.
I don't recall Europe having its own global card schemes.
The TSR-2 was abandoned due to cost overruns. The F-111 would have been cheaper...but even that was abandoned and eventually the Tornado came along...not a US aircraft.
The flow of military inventions flowed both ways during WW2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_technological_cooperati... Maybe if you hadn't had a coward as a leader in Chamberlain we wouldn't have had to bail you guys out (and lose ~250,000 Americans in Europe.)
2016 F-150 here…just keep it. At this point I’m going to run mine into the ground. No way I would spend whatever Ford is asking for nowadays for a new one.
Feel free to spend a trillion dollars on your own DoD annually. Then you don’t need the US anymore. I’d be happy if we stopped policing the world as much as anyone else. And we could maybe spend our taxes on something more productive and useful to the people.
Heaven forbid the rest of the world pays their own share of the bill. We’re not a charity. We treat our own people like shit, don’t expect to be treated better.
