Geezus_42··on So you think you could be an electrician?
Nah, there'd be a line out the door of people willing to sacrifice their freewill for some cash.
Geezus_42··on So you think you could be an electrician?
Has he not made good predictions in the past?
Geezus_42··on So you think you could be an electrician?
I think you are overestimating the shift off of fossil fuels. I mean, MAYBE people will finally wake up now that the cost of feul is so high, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Geezus_42··on So you think you could be an electrician?
That doesn't stop it from happening.
Geezus_42··on Pi 1.0
It's the goto, but there are better options IMO.
Geezus_42··on Transit rewards
No, I was asking what you think should be done. I have legitimately talked to many people to whom that is the answer and I find their views dispicable.

There's also the fact that I can never trust the clipboard to actually copy when I tell it to. Several of my co-workers have expressed the same issue, so it's not just me. Sometimes, no matter whether I use the context menu or ctrl+c, it just doesn't copy what I have highlighted and paste whatever the last thing I copied was instead.

Can we really blame individuals when we have recorded, legally admissable evidence of corporations knowingly pushing the over-perscription of extremely addictive drugs while claiming they are safe and non-addictive?
Geezus_42··on Transit rewards
So what, put them in prison?
Geezus_42··on Abandoning Scientific Linux Was a Mistake
Why would a person use RHEL in the first paragraph, making the assumption that people already know what that means. Then a few paragraphs later, write the full name?

Theoretically a mistake a person could make, but it feels a bit unlikely in this context to me.

Also, the repeating pattern of Prompt:List through multiple paragraphs.

It works fine with my Linux Laptop.
Geezus_42··on I said no and Apple said yes
I've never experienced this behavior with a Linux or Windows machine.

I'm not talking about sessions dropping. It has the symptoms of an IP conflict, absolutely no traffic can pass until I disable Wi-Fi. Any other laptop I have ever used would just switch, maybe drop an SSH session, but not this.

Geezus_42··on I said no and Apple said yes
I don't feel like I've had much issue with keyboard driven workflows on any OS.
Geezus_42··on I said no and Apple said yes
I've never used a computer that didn't have occasional hiccups. The Mac I have for work has lots of weird bugs. One is that if it has been using WI-FI and I plug-in my dock with an Ethernet cable attached, I lose internet access because MacOS can't gracefully handle the new interface becoming available.

I also find Apple's choice to just continually create 1G swap files until the system locks absolutely baffling.

Seems neat. Do you write your own connectors or have you found ones written by others? It looks like first party is very limited and I didn't see a link to any community listing.
Geezus_42··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
Except they're nowhere near that and LLMs never will be.
Geezus_42··on JetKVM Mini
Why does it need AI?

I wish Futo had the ability to use a typing heat map for more accurate predictions like SwiftKey. It constantly suggests "AMD" when I am trying to type "and". I have fat thumbs OK! I don't even have the caps on and I RARELY talk about AMD. It's just the one thing I miss. I do find the predictions generally less accurate as well, but perfectly usable.

Right, I wouldn't have mentioned it if their own platform didn't apparently have the same issue.
Geezus_42··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
But useless if they are constantly rotating usernames.
Geezus_42··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
The DDOS attacks and crawlers spamming sites from every direction have gotten so much worse. The ones hammering our network would connect, make one or two requests and then switch to a different IP.
Geezus_42··on Chrome again exempts Google from user site data settings
Can't remember the last time I saw an ad for something I was actually interested in. These days I am often discouraged from buying a product based on ads.

They also called out Sandstorm for requiring changes to the applications for them to run on the platform.
Geezus_42··on The turbulent AI era is here
Because he won't make billions off it in some indirect manner?
Geezus_42··on Zohran and the Short Link
You aren't a valid data point because you are not a New Yorker. You're presenting conjecture as though it were fact.
Geezus_42··on The turbulent AI era is here
> I even believe the Big Tech bigwigs have long foreseen this and are quietly prodding our society towards an authoritarian regime where people have no say so they can keep their moonies.

That's been obvious for a while.

If you don't live in NYC then your opinion of their mayor doesn't really matter does it?
Geezus_42··on Beware the Permanent Periphery
I hope this current liberal democracy is not the final form of human government given the great mass of human beings its leaves behind or crushes under foot.
