GaggiX··on OpenDLSS: A Vulkan Reimplementation of Nvidia's DLSS 5 Neural Rendering Network
Modders have added the ability to use the upscaler after DLSS 5, personally I don't know how sound this method is but the quality is pretty good, and allows to play games with DLSS 5 at 4k 60FPS with something that is not a 5090.

>they ship a model per game?

They don't. Only DLSS 1 was trained specifically per each game.

GaggiX··on When did Google get so weird?
Reasoning models can do math on their own without external tools.
GaggiX··on Moondream Parakeet Redux and Parakeet Ultra
I have tested the ternary model on English/Italian and I'm surprised by how good the model is, also it's very fast.
GaggiX··on 94% on AIME with 1B Params
Don't editorialize the title of the articles.
GaggiX··on Xiaomi Mimo 2.6 live post-training dashboard
These are post-training reinforcement learning steps.
GaggiX··on Show HN: Pelican-bicycle alternatives
I don't think a bunch of similar tasks can really saturate the "create a SVG of X", because the model should have a quite good spatial understanding of the world and how everything interacts.

For example Gemini 3.8 Flash seems very impressive at first glance but the results are not actually very coherent, this shows that its "world model" is not particularly great (compare to SOTA models).

GaggiX··on Show HN: Pelican-bicycle alternatives (updated for 2026)
Gemini 3.8 Flash results are often not very coherent but it does put a lot of shading and details to hide the fact.
GaggiX··on Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher
Just tried on Astra low and it gave 4.
GaggiX··on OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra on ARC-AGI-3
If you have never seen the game before probably.
GaggiX··on Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber
Gemini 3.5 pro is never going to be released, it was a failure.
GaggiX··on Debian votes to allow "responsible use of generative AI"
I think that would be more normal than comparing an LLM policy to having lost a child.
GaggiX··on Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash
Firefox really struggle with demo pages of text-to-video models because of the large numbers of videos in the page in my experience, this page seems to work quite fine for me tho.
GaggiX··on OpenAI Jalapeño: Better than Nvidia Blackwell
Or maybe significantly lower.
GaggiX··on We never use AI. For anything
This reads like ragebait trolling, like it's on purpose so completely out of touch to gain attention.

But maybe it was written years ago idk.

GaggiX··on Gemini 3.7 Flash
It's a cheap and powerful model. Also very fast for this class of models.
GaggiX··on LFM2.5 2.6B model competitive with 4x larger models
The model is cool but I would prefer if people do not editorialize the titles on their HN submissions.
GaggiX··on Learning more about Claude's mathematical capabilities
I wonder if they simply abliterate Claude skepticism would break its reasoning capabilities, if not I don't understand why they would just keep prompt it instead of creating an abliterated model for the task.
GaggiX··on DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
There are dozens of providers, the model is just really cheap to run thanks to its clever architecture that optimize the compute and memory usage even in long contexts.
GaggiX··on DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
>what’s the deal here?

It's good.

GaggiX··on Gemini Robotics 2 brings whole body intelligence to robots
I believe that it's also for safety, these robots would easily destroy themselves if not restrained (and cause damage).
GaggiX··on Schools are adding pepper-spraying drones to help combat active shooters
>The European heat death figures are based on modeled "excess deaths"—a standard epidemiological approach that tries to capture everyone who died earlier than they would have in cooler conditions, including from cardiovascular disease, stroke, and respiratory failure, which casts a wide net. "But the US number," Ritchie wrote, "isn't based on this type of modeling; it's based on heat deaths recorded on death certificates." That's a far narrower count which only captures cases where a physician specifically wrote heat as the cause of death. The result is that the two figures being compared are not measuring the same thing. "If you used death certificate figures for Europe," Ritchie wrote, "they'd be far lower."

Just citing it because some people don't even seem to read the article they just linked.

GaggiX··on Schools are adding pepper-spraying drones to help combat active shooters
They should give every student a gun at this point (/s because I feel like someone would agree with me).

Edit: everyone should also wear a bulletproof vest at minimum. Desks should be equipped with reactive armor to defend against anti-tank warheads. A Phalanx C-RAM will be installed on the roof next to the AC units.

GaggiX··on Kimi K3 Architecture Overview and Notes
The code is open source, and there probably several different implementations.
GaggiX··on Kimi Linear: An Expressive, Efficient Attention Architecture
What's the difference? They are both called Kimi Delta Attention.
GaggiX··on Kimi Linear: An Expressive, Efficient Attention Architecture
I believe OP posted it because the new Kimi K3 has 69 KDA layers (the rest are 24 Gated MLA), I think previous large Kimi models had only MLA layers.
GaggiX··on Memory safety absolutists
>They should have rewritten ffmpeg in Rust, not coreutils.

Wait for an AI company to promote their new model by porting the entire ffmpeg to Rust (half ironically).

GaggiX··on Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber
I like seeing the pelicans, it's a tradition.
GaggiX··on Codex Micro
It's an overpriced macropad.
GaggiX··on Show HN: Super Dario
Someone didn't know how to use the remaining credits.
