Freedumbs··on Musk, the Movie
I'm not trying to insult anyone. It's only an observation of repeated patterns. Please share the solar powered Roadster deliveries. I'm not going to try to source ~20 year old marketing from Musk / Tesla. I can tell you: I thought it was awesome, I was skeptical of the solar powered promise, and it never was delivered. (or maybe it was if you can share some evidence.)
Freedumbs··on Musk, the Movie
In 2008 Musk was selling a prototype Tesla Roadster with solar panels on the roof and promised a fully solar production vehicle would be available soon. They took deposits for it. I think people still have deposits on the Roadster in 2026.

You are the sucker.

Freedumbs··on CEO of Mistral: AI is software. It can be controlled
(No shit) Who thinks otherwise? LLMs can't even do anything without a massive GPU and electricity. People are just really stupid and like to blame others for things they don't understand. And the rich like to capitalize on them in moments of crisis. And here they create crisis.
Freedumbs··on The new CC, an AI agent built for families
Referring to public schools as childcare is some elitist nonsense. Public education in United States has been destroyed by decades of attacks on it by politicians, sure. But referring to it as childcare is not productive. If education literally is serving that role, the responsibilities should be split because it would dilute the education experience.

It's sort of confusing though because all schools for children are by definition childcare, and you try to diminish the public variant.

Freedumbs··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
There isn't much TBH. All newswires are even propaganda by selection mostly. I'd say the newswires that still sort of pretend to be news and usually are only biased through selection: AP and Reuters.
Freedumbs··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
If you're interested in being entertained, continue to consume. If you want to learn about science, setup a system to consume Arxiv.
Freedumbs··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
Or get this: you could read news if that's what you're interested in.

Social media isn't news. It's entertainment.

Freedumbs··on XCancel service is suspended until further notice
I extend this to people. I understand old habits and what not, but I'm surprised at the culture on social media. Twitter is literally orthodox white supremacy or however they brand it. Quite odd, but not considering current politics. We've decided to devolve.
Freedumbs··on More than 10 firms pay up to $100k a month for access to Truth Social posts
Okay. Let's assume they're roughly equal and both never evolved beyond personal liberty or whatever you mean by practically the same.

How on earth could you ever claim to be in favor personal liberty, and support GOP over Dems? GOP are literally trying to enforce a state religion at the federal level in 2026. The list of similar or worse infringements on liberty is truly unprecedented and for me, mind boggling.

Or let's ask the inverse: how do democrats infringe on your liberty or others?

Freedumbs··on More than 10 firms pay up to $100k a month for access to Truth Social posts
It seems like you learn about politics through propaganda. When I hear "classic liberal", I think of the philosophical origin of liberalism: Locke and Hobbes. Libertarian contains the same root word, but is not similar to liberal other than that.

If you pursue freedom, and individual liberty and are a US citizen, there's no way to consider GOP policy as providing more freedom or liberty. The only 2 areas I can think of where they even claim to be for freedom is: guns and freedom for corporations.

Then there's literally everything else: being a woman, not straight, not white, not Christian, an income tax payer, a property owner near an unregulated corporate entity, a person who likes sane people to have access to semiautomatic long guns, a person who enjoys drugs, a person who wants to buy or sell sex, ... etc

Freedumbs··on The US tried to stop cartel money-laundering; devastated mom-and-pop businesses
They were supposed to stop doing it 10 or so years ago. No clue if that's true. Haven't been the zero person for a while.
Freedumbs··on More than 10 firms pay up to $100k a month for access to Truth Social posts
Maybe I'm really uninformed but classic liberal and libertarian are polar opposites. Republican policy is insanely archaic and constrains human freedoms much more that Democrats, so I'm struggling to see how a libertarian could support the guys putting militarized unaccountable secret police into our cities to terrorize and kill Americans. They're also much more into thought crimes than Dems, so I'm really wondering what you consider important?

What's objectionable about Democrat policy from the "libertarian or classic liberal" perspective?

Freedumbs··on More than 10 firms pay up to $100k a month for access to Truth Social posts
I can agree, it's likely all politicians are corrupt. Democrats are awful, but GOP are genuinely bad people. Like this story for instance. Historically presidents pretended to divest from their holdings and focus on being president, not making money. The current presidential administration took a plane from Qatar spent our tax dollars to fix it up and will keep it as a personal gift, hired his bud to do the reflecting pool then persecuted citizens who touched it, has social media service that sells early access to promote insider trading, ...

Could really keep going forever. There's no point in listing all the crime or norms that have been destroyed. Maybe it's good that someone is exploiting all the edge cases and treating our country as a game to be won. I don't see it that way. I love my neighbors.

Freedumbs··on The US tried to stop cartel money-laundering; devastated mom-and-pop businesses
This is 100% true and also a tactic used by PNC when I was a near zero person. The hack around it was to try to withdraw cash, then use that. They wouldn't let you overdraft cash withdrawal. That's one anecdotal likely stale trick to avoid the traps they set.
Freedumbs··on I'll be stepping back from leading product for X
How far left do you have to be to oppose white supremacy?
Freedumbs··on ICE Collected Nearly 1M People's DNA Last Year–Including Young Children
ICE are killing 1 person per week this year. They've tried to game that number down by releasing people as they're about to die from custody. This is a large well organized semi-military force with the backing of the state ($ Billions) literally terrorizing and killing people. They are clearly trafficking humans.

If I had to guess, you consume a lot of entertainment media.

Freedumbs··on US DOT deleting bike lane references
From what I've seen and heard, the propaganda is blaming pedestrians for being "distracted". I've heard ads on the radio telling kids to look up when walking and not walk distracted (because automobiles are dangerous). This is absurd and I'll spell it out: larger cars designed to generate more revenue and distracted drivers are problems, not people walking around with their heads down. Nearly everything is backward and designed to make money or blame poor people who don't know any better.
Freedumbs··on We Tested Nonstick Cookware: Coatings Don't Need to Look Worn to Shed Particles
Eggs stick if the pan temperature isn't right or if there's not enough lube. User error or skill issue. Here's how to do it: buy good pans, turn on pan to ~medium, add oil and rub in with cloth, add more oil (or butter, butter is better with eggs), when pan is hot add eggs. This works with good quality (all clad) or heavy (cast iron) pans.
Freedumbs··on Claude Opus 5
Opus 5 also downgrades. it's now Fable -> Opus 5 ; Opus 5 -> Opus 4.8. Unclear why they want to nerf their own products with sometimes right classifiers. I guess the government ban might've been real and not coordinated marketing?
Freedumbs··on Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta warn against overregulating open-weight models
Why anyone would care what Hegseth thinks about open weight models? What's wrong with Chinese models? The censorship? I think it's good to have diversity of opinion. Get US flavored output on sensitive subjects from US models and ZH on ZH models. That's a useful tool.
Freedumbs··on Five US tech giants' hidden debts soar to $1.65T on opaque AI funding
because the maga regime operates this way. they make short term policies to inflate the economy that aren't sustainable while in power, then deadlock congress so the time bomb policies are locked in. it's the same play every time, but now insanely brazen as rules only sort of matter sometimes depending on the actor. gop has always wrecked the economy. this is true nationally, state and local levels. the evidence is there if anyone cares to learn. yes all politicians are corrupt. yes, most democrats are also corrupt. that means the system should be reformed to reign in campaign finance. and also prosecute all the criminals. we can't time travel to undo the mistakes, but we can start fixing them today. imprison the traitors.
Freedumbs··on SpaceX wants to launch 100k more Starlink satellites for 100x the bandwidth
Right the areas that companies took money to roll out high speed internet to, then just kept the money and called DSL high speed or just did nothing. The government should keep giving companies money and investing in them. It's brilliant.
Freedumbs··on Tidal AI Policy
What's the technical distinction? Do you mean music that is composed by an LLM when referring to AI? How can one draw the line? It's like saying math doesn't count if the doctor used a calculator or your house isn't real because electricity was used to assemble it.
Freedumbs··on AI boom risks global financial crash, warn central bankers
There's a lot of moving parts one of which includes the destruction of the concept of truth itself, so it's tough to describe. TLDR: we get to see how powerful modern propaganda systems are compared to those that existed prior to the great depression.
Freedumbs··on AI boom risks global financial crash, warn central bankers
I don't think so. Covid just provided more cover and justification for the looting programs.
Freedumbs··on AI boom risks global financial crash, warn central bankers
If we assume the play is the same as MAGA 1, the economic fallout happens post-2028. They'll keep inflating the bubble until MAGA cedes power. If that occurs.
Freedumbs··on U.S. government will decide who gets to use GPT-5.6
Gotta say, I'm really annoyed that the corruption of the government is directly responsible for what new toys I'm allowed to play with.
Freedumbs··on Anthropic says Alibaba illicitly extracted Claude AI model capabilities
This article is absurd for an outlet who published an article that's meant to be news not editorial. Reuters was once a news wire and is still considered that. The first two paragraphs refer to "attack" and "strike" against Anthropic. This is sensational nonsense, not news. There was no strike, or attack. Block the accounts. Why is this news, and why are they pandering to the people who just banned the new model they burned at least $10 billion training? The closer you look at this AI stuff the more absurd it is. I assume the strat is to keep the bubble floating until post-2028, then drop the bomb on the Dem who wins. Just like with the covid inflation + economic rigging Trump did in 2016-2020.
Freedumbs··on Qwen-AgentWorld: Language World Models for General Agents
Same thing, but qwen has decided to rebrand certain LLMs that were trained slightly differently as "world models". Despite the fact that "world model" typically means !LLM.

It's possible that there are geographic differences. I don't dispute your experience, just sharing mine. It would be nice to experiment with their platform.
