Flockster··on Windows XP source code has leaked
And all forget that 8 even existed.
Flockster··on The reluctant debut of the A14 processor
The recognition of faces and settings of images for example is fully done on the phone. But that is done overnight when the phone is plugged in.
Flockster··on Commerce Department Prohibits WeChat and TikTok Transactions
Do you mean the intelligence community of the US or China? Because both would be applicable.
Flockster··on Why is Apple acting like an asshole?
A quick googeling only showed data for iOS 10 but I would belive that the ballbark is the same. https://www.zdnet.com/article/ios-10-adoption-nears-15-after...

So 15% on the first day, with 1.5 billion active iOS devices. Thats a pretty high number of potential unsattisfied user experience.

Flockster··on Why are there 5280 feet in a mile? (2009)
Sorry, but I fail to see the brocken system here.. Isn't the calculation true?
Flockster··on Don't bet on the most likely winner
Only if you are excluding their strong position in the smartphone and tablet market. (Not to mention increasing services and headphones (AirPods and Beats)).
Flockster··on Wirecard files for insolvency after financial hole laid bare
Do you have a source for the copper claim? That is entirely new to me.
Flockster··on Segway ends production of its original scooter
Why is a mid-motor preferable? Doesn't it introduce an other point of failure at the chain because of the additional torque, which is not present when having the motor at the rear? I always thought, that having the motor where the force is needed would be better, because there isn't any conversion necessary.

So I never considered buying a mid-motor ebike.

Can not read this article from the EU.. But the headline amounts to ~ 0,24€ per liter.
Flockster··on Zotero: Personal Research Assistant
Yes you are, thank you very much!
Flockster··on Zotero: Personal Research Assistant
The killer feature of zotero is, that it is customizeable with different plugins. One very neat one is the integration with scihub. So you just paste in the DOI and it automaticly downloads the paper and adds all the metadata.
Flockster··on Ask HN: Smallest laptop that is decent for coding?
The MacBook is 16:10 to, which I found very nice.
Flockster··on ISH: An Alpine Linux Shell on iOS
And it still is the root password of the iPhone/iPad etc. So when you install an ssh server on your jailbroken iDevice, you should change this password. ;)
Flockster··on New iPad Pro with LiDAR Scanner and trackpad support
Yes! I'm currently deciding between the new ReMarkable2 and an iPad Pro. Having a cheaper iPad Pro without these AR/Camera-Stuff as an option would make this decision easier.
Flockster··on Court outlaws German Weather Service's free weather app
Funny that you mention it. German laws are published via the 'Bundesanzeiger Verlag' which is a fully privatized publisher owned by the DuMont Group. This lead to the fact, that you couldn't search, copy or print laws online for free. In reaction to this the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany then opened up a guerilla portal in late 2018 which allowed this. Because of this, it is planed for 2022, that all german laws will be published online and the contract with DuMont comes to an end.
Flockster··on Apple now allows iOS developers to send ads using push notifications
If Runtastics reminders to start exercising again also fall under this category, I'm all for it.
Flockster··on How Crash Bandicoot hacked the original Playstation [video]
A nice writeup about making Crash is this one: https://all-things-andy-gavin.com/2011/02/02/making-crash-ba...
Flockster··on Apple subpoenas Santander and US intelligence contractor on use of Corellium
You seem to be talking about macOS. The Corellium case is about virtual iOS instances.
Flockster··on CacheOut: Leaking Data on Intel CPUs via Cache Evictions
Is this coordinated with OS providers? It only mentioned that Intel released microcode.
Flockster··on 16-inch MacBook Pro
> Mac Pro starts at $5,999 and Pro Display XDR starts at $4,999.

Is this the first time we got a starting price on the Mac Pro?

Flockster··on Facebook is using the iPhone’s camera as users scroll their feed
And the iPhone is coming with an mechanical switch since the first one, even in the waterproofed phones from the newer generations.
Flockster··on Facebook is using the iPhone’s camera as users scroll their feed
It could be the other way around, the App calling an OS Picker, where the user decides which photo to give to the app.
Flockster··on The most advanced MySQL raytracer on the market
This is nice. So this is one SELECT statement in which the triangles and/or spheres are defined, and the raytracing-engine is written. Then it calculates the Pixels and dumps them into a .bmp-file.
Flockster··on Tesla Software Version 10.0
You have to keep pressing the button. As soon as you release the button or the car looses the connection to the phone, it stops.
Flockster··on Australia’s 4G network is faster than 5G: study
So in the future hacker TVs will be covered with tin foil on the back?
Flockster··on The Impossible Burger and Beyond Meat aren't healthier
But aren't they aiming for more energy efficiency with these burgers? And due to being plant based, aren't they succeeding?
Flockster··on Apple has copied some of the most popular apps in the App Store
Jup! And what's with the pricing? The next best tier is 2 TB? Why isn't there an option, with say 100gb, 3-4 bucks a month and not annoyingly trying to sell me some stuff when I'm just using 25% of my space.

I would buy it in an instant.. but for 10 dollars a month so that I use 2% of that space? Sorry, then I will look somewhere else..

Flockster··on Apple Accidentally Unpatches Vulnerability, Leading to New iOS 12.4 Jailbreak
Can a review really check for this? Aren't there obfuscation methods and ways to delay the trigger of the exploit? It could wait for a special network package to start the exploit.

For iOS 9.3.3 there even was an app in the App Store, that could jailbreak your phone. (PG Client)

Flockster··on Remote Code Execution on Most Dell Computers
Yes, I can remember the update to iPhone OS 2.0 was a paid update for the iPod Touch 1Gen.
